Post-op recovery advice, tips and boredom busters?

I'm getting surgery in 4 days, the recovery is 2 weeks. Anyone have any tips on recovery and things to do so I don't go insane 😂

Think about the future and it will help you cope with the pains or soreness you get from the hospital. If the hospital has trees or beautiful scenes, photograph it and listen to music with loving lyrics such as Sunday school music or vacation music, picture yourself holding a cute dog or buying toys for children, anything good to boost your mood and healing.

I was laid up for 8 weeks with a total hip replacement and I used GaG a lot. Somebody I met on GaG was really supportive during my convalescence. I read a couple of books that I finally got around to reading. I watched Netflix and set up some dumbbells so I got some exercise. After about week 4 I graduated from a walker to a cane and could walk around my neighborhood. I am back to work now but if you DM me I will text back.

Books are your friends. Both written and audio- the Gutenberg project can help with the former, and Librivox with the latter; they're both free distributions of public domain works, so if there's even been a great work of literature you wanted to read, now's the time.

I am in the same spot myself. The boredom is driving me crazy already. I have no answers.

@douride2 It is really difficult to be physically compromised. I am pretty active and I think that you are too so I can sympathize. Just know that you will get to the other side of this. You may have to make adjustments to your life but you will make it.
