+1 yDude, none of these solutions work in the comments. Let me tell you how to instantly get rid of them. As a bartender we would give lemon or lime wedges to customers with hiccups and tell them to chew them up and swallow... works everytime.
Now another way is to slow your breathing while staring at a picture on the wall. Get up real close and slowly back away while maintaing a super slow breathing rate. This works for me everytime I get the hiccups. Slow breathing and concentration on a single item is key.
NOW hit that MF MHO button on your boy.

+1 yThis hasn’t failed me yet….
- Get a glass of water, full to the brim
- Stand against a wall or flat vertical surface
- Bend over at the waist so your body is roughly at a 90 degree angle
- Take a deep breath and hold it
- Drink the glass of water continuously with you breath held as you very slowly straighten yourself up. I’d say it should take about ten seconds or so.
That’s cured my hiccups literally every time since I heard about it👍

+1 yThere's actually only one scientifically proven way to cure hiccups, a finger up the bum.

It doesn't have to be a finger, any body part will do

+1 yCreate an emergency.(as far as your organs are concerned)
In other words, hold your breath until your body starts to panic.
The hiccup reflex should be replaced by the gasping for air reflex.
Alternatively, ask someone in your house to sneak up and scare you so that your fight or flight reflex replaces the hiccups.10 Reply

Sugar works though. Starburst fruit chews too. Relaxes the diaphragm.

I have also been told that having someone startle you can work.
+1 yExhale completely and hold until i can’t hold any longer. It’s almost guaranteed. The human body won’t allow itself to implode its lungs, save specific dysfunctions of the brain. So as long as there’s no air in your lungs, the diaphragm is forced to reset. Unless you have a rare brain disorder. Then you die excruciatingly. Still… no more hiccups! Ell oh ell!
