Do soft bristle toothbrushes clean your teeth?

My dentists push these, since they are easier on gums. However, they don't clean anything. Could scrub for 20 minutes and still no effect. I think industry is passing a bad product here.

Electric is better but not even that does a thorough job. I hope you got a good routine because with inflation... dental work is getting expensive.

I hear dentistry is going corporate. God help us.

I've been told they work and are actually preferable... I just like the tough stuff because it's like a gum massage for me. I want to get in there and get it done, don't have time for bothering with a bunch of technique... Plus if I got some bullshit stuck in my teeth it it feels better than flossing or having to use a toothpick.

Yep, in implantology and prosthetic it's definitely the case.
Plaque isn't that hard and will be removed even with soft toothbrush. It's more important to brush your regularly because if plaque turns in calculus toothbrushes will have a problem to remove it no matter how hard they are.

You don't want to damage your enamel and brushing too hard will definitely do that.

Dentists recommend them these days because harder bristles wear down enamel over time, the long term damage being worse than a softer brush does.

Electric brushes with a good mouth wash twice a day, flossing after every meal and avoiding foods high in refined sugars will help not only dental hygiene but your health in general.

I use and electric but I have used the real stiff bristles before and they are too stiff. A medium works the best. I thinjk it is an Oral B

mine are great, but I have my own process. but using a soft brush on it's own... useless!
