It's not about what I prefer. It's about what works. I hate running. It hurts, my lungs are on fire, and it takes forever, but I have made the largest gains in fitness when I run than I have with any other exercise. When I run, everything else in my life is easier. I breathe better, I sleep better, swimming is easier, tennis is easier, even going up and down the stairs is easier. So even though I hate running, I still do it.

Right now mostly steady state. I run five miles per day, six days per week. This is besides my other workouts, BJJ, and Uechi-Ryu training. If I could not run then interval training would make sense.
Hiit! It made me lose weight and makes me happier than steady. But I change it up daily with toning and resistance strength.
Weight lifting is my preferred cardio. 😄🏋♀️

Boxing is the best get in the ring and do some sparring I will guarantee you in the middle of it you’ll be bending over grabbing your knees sucking wind totally exhausted more exhausting than running by far
I like HIIT because it is very body sculpting and fat burning continuous long after

👀does I don't know i consuder my cardio as hiit 15 mins of sprinting ( at 2.5 incline with 13.7 kph speed ) with rest 15 mins of skipping non stop.
I do boxing intervals for cardio + I have a lot of sex with my boyfriend (especially after hitting the weights at the gym lol)
I do mostly HIIT. I like to push and I like to sweat.
I do the exercise bike for 30-45 mins up and down in intensity
