For those of you doing online therapy how often do you have therapy sessions?
I went to a social worker in my late teens. Who deemed her qualified her for that job I have no idea. Did learn a few things though.
If you don’t have equal respect for each other it’s not going to work. Among a number of other things, she didn’t like it because I knew a word she had never heard before. It went from a simple mention to a stubborn correction, to snarky attitude in about twenty seconds.I stuck to my guns. She suddenly stood up and walked out down the hall to her colleague… who educated her that I was correct. Think just the fact he knew and she didn’t was the final nail.
It made me feel good when she came back deflated. I was off the hook after that.
I did go to a legitimate therapist many years later. It was a screen for a job. Night and day. I learned more in that 45 min with him than I ever thought I could. A truly nice man. Knew his job. Highly recommend therapy after that. I wouldn’t have otherwise.

I tried to see a therapist 3 times but they both kicked me out after 2 sessions because they thought I was too healthy, one waited 3 sessions before refusing to see me for more therapy sessions. My sessions were once a month.
Never been to see a 'therapist', in the UK it is not the norm, usually only used by someone who has more money than sense, the only real exception to that is forces personnel who are working through PTSD issues, but that is spotty at best due to the lack of available 'therapists'.
I used to have weekly, in person sessions. Online wouldn't be good for me.

I don't because I'm not gonna waste my time and money paying some random stranger who acts likes they know what's wrong with me to act like they care for an hour or two a week and prescribe me drugs that'll make me feel worse
Surrounding yourself with positivity and doing things you love can do wonders for your mental healthEvery time the program gets interrupted by the fake januar 6th reality TV show that issued a subpoena which will be irrelevant after the election
Everyday. We usually meet in the mirror.. 😳
I am my own therapist, and I see myself daily. This is not a troll statement, I literally help myself, but that is in fact the skill that therapists are supposed to teach clients.
Fortunately and thankfully I have no need for a therapist.
The thought of why I shouldn't kill myself is a pressing one. And it is not something I can assuage by some careless reassurance or by therapy. So no, it would be a waste of my time and money.
I don't go that often because my therapist isn't that good and it took me forever and a suicide attempt just to get a therapist so I don't want to go through that again.
He/she never seeks my advice.
So: not going to happen.
