How is it like getting your wisdom teeth taken out? Any advice as im scared?

I’m 25 and I will get my wisdom teeth taken out demcber if not 2023. Finally. I was supposed to get them out 3 years ago but I have neglected my teeth & scared of being put to sleep and not wake up. My wisdom teeth now hurt more & it has shifted 3 of my teeth. 3 of my teeth are twisted like a full 360. I have done an endoscopy before & I didn’t even feel when I fell asleep , I woke up so fast I didn’t even know I slept & thought the endscopy didn’t begin yet. Felt like a nice nap. Is taking out all 4 teeth just one hour long? I don’t have issues with the upper teeth at all jsut the bottom but the dentist will force me take out all 4 for money.

Better take them out before they start to really cause severe pain. Your wisdom teeth grow diagonally compared to your normal teeth and they will start pushing the rest of your teeth closer together which hurts tremendously. In worst case scenario it can force the rest of your teeth getting pushed crooked.

Do they put you asleep when preforming this procedure? 🤨

In my country you just get a nasty painfull needle pressed in your tooth flesh and get stunned there. After a 10 minute wait they just pull them all out while being awake

That sucks for sure but it could be worse thrust me! Mine became so bad from not removing my wisdom teeth on time that people started asking me if I were doing to much drugs because of my teeth. In the end I decided to pull them all out and go with fake ones 🤕

It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great. You won't feel the actual removal although if they need to do the shots in your gums those will hurt. There is a lot of pain for many people on the first day after the anesthetics wear off but can be managed with various meds depending on you. I had Tylenol with codeine (this was a long time ago), my wife got percocet, it depends on the dentist who does the work. You'll have pain and soreness for a couple days. The worst part, usually, is the swelling. You'll look like a chipmunk for at least a week.

This is all different for everyone so your experience may be completely opposite from what I described. But, I wouldn't be scared (and I know that's easy for me to say).

Last year wen I had went to the dentist they said they need cut my bone? To get the wisdom teeth out? 🙁🙁🙁 it was a nurse saying that to the dentist I heard the convo

I wasn't completely out and neither was my son. My wife they put completely to sleep. But your feeling is valid but not waking up isn't something to worry about.

It is a VERY safe procedure. Whether you get put to sleep depends on what they need to do. Hers were such that the doctor elected to put her out completely.

It was soo bad when I got mine out! All 4 were impacted and had to be broken into pieces to be taken out. Also got stitches. I woke up with my mouth filling with blood and was in a lot of pain for days, could barely eat. But I am happy they are out cuz they caused me a lot of pain.

to be honest it was not day at the beach. When I went in I was told I had a throat infection and they wanted to postpone it. I wanted to get it done so I asked if they could just give me novacaine. They said they could but it will be rough. They were right about the rough part. It took about a week before the swelling went down but I understand it was something I needed to get done.

it's actually no big deal. when you arrive at your appointment they Will connect an IV to sedate you and numb the areas before you wake up and you will feel fine

you won't even know you were out plus your BP and heart rate is monitored your in good hands 😊

Don't take it out. It's supposed to stay in your mouth. Take a pain killer but don't take it out
