I know someone who’s mother does not allow junk food or ‘bananas’ as it has too much sugar and something like 90-99% dark choc only. I found this quite worrying, I did think the same once I had kids I didn’t want to allow junk food in my house and cook healthy meals only but then I realised even if I restrict certain foods from my house the kids will eat it outside anyway so I might aswell have it in the house as I do believe if you restrict foods and don’t find balance kids can develop eating disorders and disordered eating and just unhealthy eating habits. A choc bar or a packet of crisps won’t hurt them as everything in moderation. I don’t wanna be feeding my kids lettuce 24/7. Of course I will be cooking them mostly healthy meals and healthy snacks overall , but I feel like being too restrictive and extreme with what your feeding yo ur kids can cause them to have problems in future.

Yes. And I recently heard someone say how she wasn’t allowed to eat anything unhealthy at all ever, no excuses, during her upbringing. Not even cake on her birthday or other kids birthday parties. Not even white bread at her friends slumber party. Just never. Now as an adult she has un unhealthy relationship to food and overeats ”unhealthy” stuff because she feels like she may never be able to have it again, even though she’s a grown woman who’s moved out of home and is in charge of her own grocery shopping and eating.
yeah exactly it’s really sad, parents actions have these sort of effects on their kids when their adults 💔
Absolutely if they are not taught about good foods.
I agree
It does not take a PhD to get this, right... Parents sometimes...
