In 2011, my mother was diagnosed with the cancer that would eventually kill her. I wound up spending much of the next few years living with my parents, and watching her slowly- very slowly- weaken and sicken and fade away. That's not a fate I'd wish on anyone- but it's one that's already been forced on millions of people who either have loved ones unable to get to cancer screenings or were unable to themselves.
My best friend has Asperger's syndrome, and grew up in an era that barely recognized it; he managed to muddle his way through, and used the incredible power of his brain to parse through ALL of the sense data he can't filter out; not only can he maintain a normal conversational pace with people, but people swear he's a mind-reader, because his pattern recognition is so good he can watch you take four steps and tell which hand you comb your hair with, and other feats that would make even Sherlock Holmes say "How do you know that?". But when your mouth is covered, he can't read your lips. Overnight, he went from superpowered to a social cripple, since his brain, unable to parse through what it was seeing, simply kicked into a higher gear. Then a higher one. Then a higher one. And so on, until it's trying to scream out from a dead stop at 200 MPH, and he either has to run or punch you in the face, because all he hears is garbled nonsense, and has no idea whether you're saying "Reach for the sky!" or "Nice day today, huh?". I taught him the ASL (sign language) for "I can't read your lips if your mouth is covered"; this is probably the only reason he's still out of jail.
So no, I'm not- I wasn't even back then, and given that it's been shown that 1. they don't stop the spread of Covid, and 2. they do (in some cases) stop the spread of other diseases, the lack of exposure to which is why there's now an RSV epidemic rampaging through the country, I've been pretty well vindicated in that decision.
Humans are not so powerful that we can overwrite the basic laws of biology, even though we really really want to. Our failure to understand that is hurting innocent people. It needs to stop.

Of course! Covid is still with us, and with newer and more dangerous strains. Plus, it helps against other airborne diseases. My daughter had cancer and brain surgery years ago and her health has gone way down. And I have a gal friend going through chemo for cancer now. Hospitals, doctors' offices, pharmacies, etc. all require them because of the susceptibility of people concentrated in those places, but people at risk are everywhere as they still need to do many of life's normal things, like shopping for groceries. Until we can basically eradicate Covid it continues to be dangerous and people should avoid spreading it.
Yes I do in most places that I get to be around pepole, I yet to get sick, so I got a higher chance, and if it happens to me I will like to avoid spreading it as much as I can
It really dose not bother me almost at all, and if it gives me even a small chance to save someone else from getting sick that is worth it
I know the chance of me getting it is really high, as so many just assume its over here, or say they prefer to just get it, and be over with it, il say at times I am one of the only once wearing it on busses and the like, had some pepole come over to me and lie, or tell me to take it off, like it harm it in some way, but for now sticking to it
Also got all the shots so far with no real effect on me, one of the only not got it yet in my family and around my friends
Hoping to stick to it till it be over
Also just saying the more that get sick in the end the more chance the virous will evolve, to good or to worst

No.
Covid clearly is like the new (or additional) influenza virus. It’s not going anywhere and I feel like wearing masks or mandating them longterm will do more harm than good. As evidenced by the respiratory illnesses in record numbers showing up in schools/workplaces after masks were worn for just the better part of two years.
Also, it’s not like Covid is a death sentence that the media seemed to portray it as initially. No worse than strep and tbh, that’s how you make your body stronger and more resilient. You expose it to antibodies and let it’s own immune system so it’s thing.

Only if a "requirement". Masks give a false sense of security now that we know some of the antics of the virus.
Usually, not cause I feel it makes me safer, but it helps to make it so less guys approach me and talk to me... plus I still recall those businesses that said no mask no service, so I intentionally wear it at those places and will forever and ever.
If they come back one day and say no masks allowed, I'll tell them to screw off and make up their mind, because they required it before they can't keep changing their policies all the time, because before long they'll say masks required again. There is no way I can know that what they want until I show up and then it is too late.
At least the No shoes, no shirt, no service stuff stays the same.
I do wonder though if any businesses will ever get to the no masks allowed.
Yes, I do. Even at college, I'm one of the very few people who still wear mask. My mum is still undergoing chemotherapy, so I do not want to put her at risk. Her immunity is low, so she could develop complications if she is exposed to infections. I also contract infections easily, and it does not go away for 2-3 weeks, and I feel like shit the whole time, so I'd much rather wear mask for a few hours than suffer myself or endanger my mother. I change my mask every 3 hours, so it's fine.
They must not work, if you can sneeze with a mask on. Hmm, you wouldn't have sneezed had nothing got in your nose. The mask is supposed to prevent things from entering. I find it funny. I went to a store and this woman had one of those really good masks and she tried so hard not to sneeze and had like five sneezes back to back with the mask on! what is silly is all of a sudden all that hype with no end in sight about covid, and overnight suddenly you heard nothing and everybody hellbent on going back to normal. Yeah the same normal everyone complains about going to work in person being gone all day coming home at night etc. Work from home and few and far people on the roads was a dream.
That’s a huge NO! I have never worn a mask since Covid. Not once. I told stores they can lose my business or let me on but no way in hell will I ever wear a mask. Masks DO NOT stop or even reduce risk of catching a virus. I refuse to live or play into a lie just so someone else can have a false sense of security. I’ve never had a vaccine either. I trust my own body over a man made thing that is causing people to kill over dead by the thousands!
I still wear a mask because where I live it's back to being mandatory. However, I wish I wouldn't have gotten the COVID vaccine.. unfortunately, for me it was get vaccinated or don't work. I love my job, so I had to take the jab.
The darn thing has affected my health in so many ways. Lol but that's my fault for getting it.Nah, barely anyone wears masks here anymore. Maybe you can come across one at a hospital... maybe. Or there's that security guard at my bank that still wears it - but it's funny - otherwise, the last time I saw more than one person within a day wearing one was months ago.
No. I never did. There is so scientific basis for wearing them. Every randomized controlled study ever done shows they have no effect in preventing spread of respiratory virus. Healthcare bureaucrats reversed their stance on masks and ignored the science so they could create the appearance that they were "doing sonething." Instead, masks created terrible division, enabled authoritarianism, and stunted the growth of children worldwide. Now a significant portion of the world population is permanently brainwashed into this healthcare theater.
No, I hated the mask, and anytime I could get away with not wearing any I would.. Now they don't require it anywhere I live, which is surprising since Chicago is a very liberal city.. They stop very little of any viral particles since they are so small.. Many people use the same mask at least a couple of times which defeats the purpose..
I would really like to. Masks provided a sense of comfort. What my face expressions are, people did not see them. That was a plus point.
And girls, looked really beautiful with just their eyes visible.
I would wear mask anytime.
I do... but specifically indoors with air condition and close range to people.
Outdoors has nice air circulation.
Mask purpose is to reduce viral load , not completely eliminate it. Some spit boulders are trapped by the mask IF the mask is a good mask. Some idiots don't understand this.
I’ve always worn them for dust/exhaust while riding my bikes. Just stuck to it in stores as haven’t caught a cold/flu for three years since the mandates. Probably 20% of my area still does. More so this month. Lots of people in the medical field shop after work, mostly them. And elderly.
No! They were stupid then and are stupid now!
Let's see. Did I wear a mask for the last 50 something years of my life while during the majority of it there were those here that came here with things like non treatable diseases such as resistant TB etc etc? No I didn't and I'm not wearing one over a made up factious disease either ain't happening.
My dad had cancer this year and I was so grateful that the few times he was in public, a good majority of people were wearing masks and we were able to wear them around him to keep him safe. I also live with chronic illness as well, so this has been a bit of a blessing in disguise to still go places where a lot still wear the mask. There really are other reasons to keep wearing other than 'just' Covid.
nope. i stopped that as soon as my state lifted the mandate. i don't see why or what the point is of other people still wearing masks but i don't say anything. wonder if my partner will forever wear a mask... there is no point. at least not anymore. and he gets sick more than me. i don't get it.
I didn't wear a mask in the first place. Never bought one. Never made one. Still haven't gotten sick and I never took the vaccine.
No matter what anyone wants or says. You'll never get that vaccine in my body or make me wear a mask.
I also want to point out that I'm kinda drunk at the momentI still do since I commute a lot. I'm a little sensitive to air pollution and dust particles, if I inhale a lot for a long period of time I get cough/cold pretty easily.. especially in my country.
When it was required I bought the thinnest mask that literally did nothing and it stopped nothing because nothing happened.
I only had to wear a mask in public for a number of weeks earlier this year, that was it, and I hated it, at times I felt like I was going to suffocate and die.
(Warning: If you're triggered easily stop reading now!)
And for anyone still participating in the global theatrical production of wearing a mask and believing the utter nonsense our governments force fed us, no, your mask absolutely does not filter out airborne viruses such as C0V1D.
