Why do people go in and out of jail all the time? How do we stop the cycle?

why people go in and out of jail all the time? how do we stop the cycle? I been going jail a lot and I think I going back soon. also I done other bad thing and I keep try to tell the cops what I did so I can do my time and be done with it. But they not understand and come and get me.

I want do the time and I do not like hurting other. I dk when the cycle is going end.

I do not want out I want go jail for all the thing I did. I did other bad thing I feel that are worse and I want go jail for them.

In jail as long as you're not gang or a child molester there is very little to worry about. Correctional officers don't go beating up random prisoners, they're often the ones getting attacked by prisoners with little support from management.

In prison you get 3 square meals a day, you get entertainment systems, you get gyms, you get free healthcare, and a lot of other benefits. In many ways you're treated better than law obeying senior citizens.

Best of all you don't have to worry about much of what law obeying citizens do. You don't have to pay taxes, you don't have to pay utility bills, etc.

I work medical and I have heard ex-cons / addicts say that they could do time in the big house or federal penitentiaries doing a handstand. My father worked as a classification officer, a specialty in prisons, for 30 years and my brother and relatives have been correctional or prison staff one way or the other.

The average prisoner has a damn good life in jail. Its why you have some repeat offenders back in jail not even 24 hours after release. Because they'd rather be behind bars than outside.

How to stop it?

Make prison an actual punishment not a spa retreat.

People go back over and over because of conditioning. Foster kids go to jail because of conditioning
Overweight people stay overweight because of conditioning
Drug addicts stay drug addict because of conditioning.
A bad influence is bad because they alter your conditioning

My brother has been to prison multiple times. He always had to have a gun on him, according to him. I called him a view days ago and he finally realized it was dumb to have a gun, expecting bad things to happen at the grocery store or some mundane place. Why did it take him years to realize this? Conditioning.

Conditioning controls your logic, how you think, feel, and act.
Why would anyone keep doing bad things and be so dumb knowing they will go back?
Conditioning...a lot of inmates don't even see other way of life. It's all they know. It's deep rooted conditioning... That's what people don't understand. They really believe with all their heart it is the only way.

Has nothing to do with conditioning. If that was the case everyone in these situations would be a jailbird, but many people in foster care for one actually end up contributing to society and contributing well.

My only experience with jails it going into Japanese jails because I really need to pee. They'd let me in the cell to pee. Then I would get back to my drunk driving. They also give directions... really nice cops.

There are two kinds of people that go to jail. There are people who screwed up and when they go to jail for longer than a couple weeks or even a couple days they learn their lesson and that's probably the last time. Then there's people who go to jail and get out, even though they talked about how good they were going to do when they were in jail they continue their same behavior when they get out. And I'll go back 10 times. They'll keep doing it usually until they get to be a certain age like over 50 when they just had enough. And then they usually stop committing crimes because they are older and not as likely to do something that's going to get them in trouble. When you're older you just don't have the energy for crime. LOL although some people will go their whole lives. I don't see how people don't learn their lesson. Jail is a really awful place to be for more than a day. More than 3 days it starts to get really bad. People don't understand how bad it is when they wish a certain amount of jail time on a person. It's five times more effective as what that person is picturing it being. It's five times more of a punishment than they're thinking. It's not because it's scary or anything like that. It's because it is completely and totally boring. Sometimes it feels like the clock literally isn't moving. The days are long as they could possibly be. Every single one. You get used to it and you go through different phases of how you feel about it but one thing is constant. You hate that you're there no matter how long you've been in there or how long you have to go. It's a good punishment. People complain about jails but that's usually just people that have to go there because they didn't like it. That's the point. But this goes over the head of your typical criminal.

Jail is like a vacation to some people & if you make jails less inviting & more like dark dungeons people would think twice about returning.

First of all, you need to dedicate yourself to God and his Goodness. Try praying to God for him to help you break your bad habits. Breaking bad habits is not easy, even when its' something mundane.

Mental Illness. Back in the day, we had institutions that handled the mentally ill. Sadly, jails have now become the defacto mental institutions for the mentally ill. Worse, the guards and other staff have no training on identifying or treating mental illness.

Are you joking? It's the leftist who is more likely to go to jail. What in the hell does voting republican have to do with going to jail? I think it says a lot about you. Like with what is being done to Trump many on the left would also like to do to conservatives. Even though they've committed no crimes. Neither has Trump. The left has become vindictive and authoritarian. Full of hate for anyone who doesn't agree with them on every point.

I've even heard them talk about camps.

I told people years ago that a leftist just assume see conservatives die if they had the power to do it. And people laughed at me and told me I was crazy.
