You can't simply count calories.
you also have to look at what kind of calories you are eating, too many carbs, too many starchy vegetables, too much fat, salt, not enough protein or water.
You need at least 64 oz of water a day.
Protein helps you from feeling hungry.
Eat less but more often, every couple of hours.
For women 1,200 calories a day is good.
If you do not eat enough your metabolism will drop.
At least 30 min of exercise a day, preferably in the morning as it kick starts your metabolism.
Look at programs like weight watchers, GOLO, Nutrisystem.
You need to relearn how and what to eat.
1 to 2lbs a week is a healthy amount to lose.00 Reply

+1 yBecause diets are what we do when diet is what we dont do. I am not an expert, but I play one on the internet. Might I suggest a radical idea to you. Read an older book called Fit for Life or Google Internal hygiene. We should eat more consistently, smaller servings of less food groups at once. We do not drink enough water. We need to get out in nature for 20 minutes a day. If you are taregeting your waistline, eat more cabbage, its empty and promotes the body to eat its own fat stores. Get into tea. And it might sound ridiculous, but if you dont excercise, try Yoga for a month. You WILL notice results, even if you do excercise. We live sedentiary lives and it turn our bodies into bonecages to liquify in. Dont let it happen to youuuuuuu... namaste.

Of course a diet you fill additionally metric ton of chips and hectoliters of soda won't work as intended, because most diets for losing weight reduce carbs intake.00 Reply

The best tip of ALL is to cut out sugar. Everything that has added sugar. No candy, no cake, no soda, no juice and no alcohol. Sugar geta broken down to fat in out bodies. Fat on its own is not terrible, but there are several types of fat, and this fat that comes from sugar is a bad one. Other then that eat almost what ever you want to, but at least half if not more should be vegetables, greens and other things like it. Don't stuff your face, have your porsjon of food and that's it. For some what can work for them is to do intermittent fasting, you only eat between 9 in the morning and 9 in the night. Outside of that you don't eat anything, just drink water or other things like tea. Dont be lazy, meaning take the stairs the few floors you going instead of the elevator. Be active a few times a day. And most important of all, diets don't work. Lifestyle change does.

Fats have more energy per mass than sugar, 9 to 4. Seems that active transport is needed to take place. What’s up?

*added sugar. Sugar found in whole fruits ain’t bad. Fat is also OK. I love avos.

+1 ySeeing that you're 19 (as per 'profile') I will assume that you are part of the latest generation (s) that believe that to wish for something automatically grants you success.
In fact - you CAN. But it isn't for free.
I suggest to skip consumerism, and to look into options that consider your (true) life conditions and opportunities. Don't expect miracles within only a week, but with focus on what (and when) you eat, and how much... plus balancing your input of nutrition with the output of -physical- activity... you will get to satisfying and realistic results.
I wish you the best of success in your efforts of course :)

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yIt is because you are eating bullshit. People tell they cannot lose and they are eating healthily. No, I lost 20 lb in a month doing a green smoothie cleanse. You are not doing the stuff you say are doing; you are not losing weight. That means you are still eating McDonald and fatty processed foods.
You lying to yourself by saying you can't lose. That is a load of BS. It's just your lazy that is why you are not losing weight.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yOdds are you're just not giving it enough time. I tried losing weight and failed for years. Before I finally figured out what works for me.
Next do you have an underlying medical condition that might be thwarting your efforts? Maybe PCOS, Hypothyroidism, or sleep apnea? I lost weight, then I developed sleep apnea and hypothyroidism later and after I got that treated I was still able to take off the weight.
Given your age I have to wonder if we're talking 10 to 15 vanity lbs. Or we're talking real weight. Young people blow things out of proportion generally. Most think they have to lose weight when they don't.

+1 yIt sounds strange, but the truth is, if you skip meals or follow a very low-calorie diet, it can backfire by making you burn calories more slowly. Want to ratchet up your metabolism? Lift weights to boost your lean muscle mass. And avoid diets that have extremely low-calorie counts.

+1 yIt's all about calories deficit. Ensure you lose more calories than what you ingest in a day.
Try a bit of cardio or muscle growth (both help losing fat in different ways) and start making healthy replacements on your meals... cook without oil, avoid butter and sugars, stay away from white flour and white rice, etc.
Putting protein powder into your meals will also help as they'll make you feel full with less.00 Reply403 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. I'm older than you, and it is harder to lose when you are older than at 19. I exercise regularly and eat a fat-free, sugar-free diet, and don't over eat, nor eat late at night.
Correction: Not always sugar free, and not ALWAYS fat free.
Not easy. Get in touch with a nutritionist, and a consistent exercise program.
Stick with it.
Good luck
00 ReplyYou should get a physical first and understand whether there are underlying medical issues. If not, I recommend high-intensity interval training because it puts metabolism into overdrive, along with a healthy diet that does not feel extreme to you.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yHonestly no one can really answer that question w very limited info. No info at all actually. I mean maybe it’s something medically, thyroid problems, metabolism, etc. You eating healthy? Junk food? Exercising? Drinking too much? Depressed? There could be a lot of reasons.

+1 yI lose weight when I exercise a lot and fast a lot (both can be needed). Cut out any junk food. Eat more fruits. Go 100% fruitarian, if you can. Remember to exercise and to fast! Maybe you won’t lose weight, but more likely bring your mass to be more ideal.
00 Reply1.6K opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. It all boils down to calories in vs calories out. For instance, if I'm active & walking around, I can get away with probably 3k calories per day. But if I'm not very active, if I go over 1.5k, I tend to gain weight.
