Why do I become smarter when I am drunk?

I am not even joking I actually become more coherent and say smarter shit when I am drunk. Non drunk people have told me this. And I become more social.

This reminds me of a mid-term college exam in calculus. For some reason I thought it was a good idea to drink a big 40 ounce beer before the exam. Well, it was actually repeat material that I already had in high school, but that still wasn't a bright idea. I thought I did good on the exam. When I got it back I got 6%. I remember when the teacher handed the test back to me he gave me the weirdest look. Like how the hell do you get 6% on a mid-term?

Fortunately the class was optional. I always liked math so I took the class. I didn't need it for my major. It was basically just for fun.

this happens to me as well. my vocabulary goes up exponentially, i remember facts and recall stories i normally wouldn't.

there's a term called drunken recall that could explain this.

there's also a movie about this particular subject called "Another Round". while the movie isn't that great it shows the difference in what you experience versus what someone else might. it's worth a watch
