My stomach says I'm hungry but I haven't pooped in 5 days now?

I had surgery 5 days ago

I have not been able to poop and I have been eating normally and drinking a lot of water.

today is the 5th day without poop.. my stomach is growling that it needs food and I feel hungry but now I'm scared to eat because I've been eating normal food the entire week without bowel movement so where is it going?

I don't feel pain just I don't know where it's being stored where is it? and if I listen to the hunger and still can't go?

I took miralax last night and still nothing all day today it's already night time.

is this normal?

If any of you ever go through this, I figured out what helps.

I had never had surgery before in my life so I had no idea about constipation. the doctor nor nurses warned me about it so I had no clue.

before surgery, you should do a cleanse such as with Fleet Enema before and after surgery because the pain medications will likely constipate you.

It was horrible! after 6 days the stool was soooo hard it hurt! I didn't know wha to do. I did FLEET ENEMA Life saver! Thank you all.

I will now go buy all the stuff you all recommended (fruits and veggies) as it will continue to help the process.

I've been walking and cleaning mostly.
I did take miralax last night but it hasn't worked all day today.
I don't feel discomfort or pain. I'm just concerned I don't feel the need to go poop at all. It's very strange to me because I am eating like normal and I used to go every day.

I don't have green veggies at the moment. I do have fruit but not papayas. I've been eating grapefruits, eggs and chicken mostly with water and some gatorade.
I also do have gas aka farts. so something IS working there I suppose. Just I don't understand where the food is going I don't even look bloated nor feel bloated so it's scary because it's concerning where is it. I hope I can go tomorrow. Thank you

no I didn't get sewn up. just bbl the new one without all the stitching and no implant.
I'm on pain medications
I don't have pain or need to poop but it's scary that I haven't gone in 5 days well it's morning now today will be 6 if I don't go. I do have gas/farts and I do pee a lot but where's the food going it's so long. I've never had any type of surgery before this so I don't know if this is normal or not.. little scared

Eat papayas
Drink a fiber drink

I started eating grapefruit. I don't have green veggies or papaya at the moment I'll have to go buy some tomorrow. I also don't have fiber drinks. I have been drinking a lot of water and gatorade but mostly water and just normal eating. Eggs and chicken mostly
