Here are some exercises you can do with a 17kg barbell to target your glutes and thighs:
1. Squats: Place the barbell on your upper back and stand with your feet shoulder-width apart. Lower your hips down as if you are sitting in a chair, keeping your knees in line with your toes. Drive through your heels to push back up to a standing position.
2. Lunges: Hold the barbell on your upper back and step forward with one foot, bending both knees to lower your body down. Keep your front knee in line with your toes and your back knee hovering just above the ground. Push through your front heel to stand back up and repeat on the other leg.
3. Deadlifts: Hold the barbell with an overhand grip and stand with your feet shoulder-width apart. Lower the bar down towards the ground, keeping your back straight and your knees slightly bent. Drive through your heels to lift the bar back up to standing position.
4. Hip thrusts: Sit on the ground with your back against a bench or step, and place the barbell across your hips. Plant your feet on the ground and drive through your heels to lift your hips up as high as possible, squeezing your glutes at the top of the movement.
Remember to start with a weight that is comfortable for you and focus on proper form and technique. As you become stronger, you can gradually increase the weight to continue building muscle.
Hmmm I mean sure but if that's all the weight you have, it won't be as effective as if you had more. Probably just gonna have to go for higher reps. It may still be too light even then though
