Would short term keto work for weight loss?

I'm thinking of doing keto with nuts and cheese for a few days or months, mixed with some fruits and vegetables for vitamins and minerals. Most of the keto weight loss people I know make it a lifestyle and eat the diet long term. I don't like long term keto cause I think it restricts your nutrition and is more expensive then regular non keto food.
