Can you be happy and not know it?

I was washing the dishes and could not sing because my dad had a work phone call so I silently played a song in my head and danced around and my mom said I looked unusually happy that day. I was happy I had achieved a recent goal and could potentially reap the benefits one day.

I think in today's world many people don't understand what happiness is. Back during the depression happiness was a bowl of soup with meat in it. Today, people have iPhones, computers, cars, houses and all the food they want and they still are not happy. The reality is we all should be very happy with our lives today. Those who suffer today are the people who are happiest with the little things in life. The Bible is full of people who suffered, and it shows that suffering is a part of life. I believe suffering makes us better people. But back to your question... People should know if they are happy or not. There is no measurement for happiness it's just every persons personal idea of happiness so if they think they are happy they are happy of not then they are not.
