My husband has been having... random pulse spikes, ig, for a while now. He can't remember when they started bc he didn't know that they weren't normal until a few months ago when he finally fucking mentioned them to his dad (who has high blood pressure, and a blood pressure monitor he then lent to my husband).
So now he's been waiting for a spike to happen when he's resting & can use the monitor. And that happened about ten minutes ago and according to the monitor, he went up from his normal resting rate by about 30 bpm for a solid few minutes, then dropped to fucking 20 bpm lower than his normal for maybe a minute, then flattened back out to normal. (He checked it pretty quick again after it read that low bc he thought it must have been wrong).
I don't know shit about blood pressure and pulses and all that, but that sounds like a big fluctuation for being sitting down relaxed the whole fucking time. he's been checking every once in a while for a few months now and it seems fairly normal otherwise, so is it possible that the monitor just kinda messed up this time? He didn't feel strange at all, not tired or anxious or anything. Just said he felt his heartbeat in his ears & it was annoying, "like normal and it goes away after a few minutes" apparently. 🙄💀
Anyone with experience with heart shit know if this sounds more like something actually going on or if it's more likely the machine just misread him for some reason? He said he'll mention it to his doctor just in case, but I bet he's gonna say it in a way that makes it sound like not a big deal again & if it is a big deal than I want him to at least pretend to sound concerned about it so the Dr will take it seriously.
