Did anyone have older parents? Or have been older parents? What was it like?

My boyfriend is older 56. He has two grown daughter in their mid twenties

I am 37, I have two children- eight and four.

He is in extremely good shape and extremely healthy. You’d never think he is 56, you’d think 46 max. His age was a massive surprise to me but I truly don’t mind it.

Lately, we have been discussing having a baby together.
I am positive he can handle it physically and emotionally and I know I can.

My worry is how will a child feel with older parents? I’m not exactly a spring chicken myself 😂

38 and 57 with a newborn, means we will be 56 and 75 at their graduation. Will it be embarrassing?

My parents were 35 when they had me and I thought that was too old. I fucking hated it. My siblings that got raised by my parents in their younger years had a much better childhood and turned out more productive in life. The worst thing is it made me have to mature fast and really didn't have time to be a kid. I definitely don't recommend cause you never know what the future holds. This is the reason why I'm having all my kids before age 30

It's not that uncommon for a woman to have kids at your age, and a man that age happens all the time as well. I just worry about birth complications though. Read articles on how age of both parents affects birth of infant.

I think if you’re active, it is no problem. My kids were born when I was 37,39, 42 and a few weeks short of 49.

Thank you! We are both very healthy. He extremely so, works out daily, food prep, barely drinks, etc

When we first met just as friends someone made a crack that he was going to be the fittest grandfather at the park and he said “yes, that’s the point”
But now we are envisioning starting over together

Haha I mean, did you actively notice “man my parents are much older than my friend’s parents”. Were you embarrassed to be with them and have people ask “are those your grandparents” etc etc

This is old, but my parents are technically my grandparents. My mom is 69. It didn’t embarrass me or anything. My mom looked the same/ sometimes younger than other moms.
