Now that I broke my leg, I can’t stop thinking how lucky, happy and carefree I was with my healthy leg, I miss my life 3 days ago.
You ever see that South Park episode from a while back where stan, his dad and his sister are all up on the internet, and stans mom says "alright everybody time for bed". They all want to stay up and "use the internet". The next morning, they wake up to "no internet". They try to figure out why and they hear there might be some internet out in Cali-for-ne-ay (spelled how they said it, lol). Stan or Kyle, I forget which one, is called upon to find out why the internet works. So, we see this big large router (what the cable is connected to, to "connect people"). He can see that the router is trying to work, because it's there, just, not at full power. He decides to walk over to the power supply, which of course turns the router on and off, unplugs it, and plugs it back in. The internet starts working again and everybody starts cheering.
You later see Stans dad (randy) talk about how we shouldn't "take the internet for granted", if you catch my drift
Thought this might apply to the question

Your leg will heal. Barring infection or complications about six weeks from now you'll be able to resume your life and in six months it'll just be a memory assuming it's a simple break and you're not held together by pins and scaffolding.
Yes, we take it for granted until we lose it.
Losing my health has had permanent impact on my life. My kidneys are only at 40% and I have to be careful as they can fail. My right leg is no longer a problem because it was amputated. I've managed to keep half my left foot but a simple blister could change that.
It's easy to take it for granted.
Appreciate what you have.22 Reply- +1 y
Seems like you’ve been through hard times, I am happy you made it alive. Wish you a great health and a long, happy life!
Thanks for kind wishes, my fracture is not easy one, I am getting titanium tomorrow - +1 y
I'm so sorry it's a complex break.
There's always something you can find to laugh at with hindsight. The trick is to find that humour at the time. My favourite example is my surgeon spoke to me with great gravitas when he told me we'd reached the point where amputation was the only option - which I'd worked out.
He explained and then asked if I had any questions...
So I asked him if he knew where I can get a parrot 😅🦜
He packed out laughing and his staff looked astonished.
There's always humour. You just have to find it 🤪😉😊
+1 yWe for sure do.
I learned it a few years back. But fortunately, I had enough time to address the issue
Take care and rest enough to let your leg to heal properly.

Most of us, yes. And even when something happens... we still think we'll be fine. And that's when the man in the hoodie with bony hands comes. 🫠

As for your question, yes, I believe it’s very easy to take our health for granted.
Something as simple as walking or even breathing can be taken for granted.
I’m allergic to cats (they trigger my asthma) so whenever my asthma gets triggered, it helps me remember how nice it is to be able to breathe without effort and not worry about my windpipe closing up in the middle of the night.
Health is wealth. In fact, many people would trade wealth for health. Being healthy and strong is truly a blessing that anyone who has it should be thankful for.12 Reply- +1 y
Thanks 💕
I had two breaks, one in ankle and one in tibia. I underwent surgery and both were fixed. Now the next 4 months I should walk with crutches and not put my right foot on the ground.
I hope I can handle it well.
I totally agree with you, we take even breathing for granted…

You’re welcome. ☺️
I’m glad that you received the help you needed and had both fixed.
You have a strong will and as a dancer, I believe that will help with your balance and coordination. You got this. 💪
I wish you a smooth recovery.

I don't , mainly because as you age you think of this stuff , I'm really fortunate to be in the shape I am , but that also didn't happen by accident , I train everyday.
You know ( touch wood ) , I have never broken a bone in my body , ever , even despite contact sport , and taking some pretty stupid risks when I was young , for that I'm extremely grateful , health should always be No 1 .

+1 yI’m living it with a chronic ailment.
On top of that, if it makes you feel any better, I’ve been nursing an achilles injury and a shoulder problem for the past few weeks. Stuck waiting around for them to heal.
You’ll be fine.

Haha, thank you so much. Dance has always been my anti depressant. I’ll have a hard time living without it for so many months. But I hope 6-8 months from now, I can dance again…

@strateguy632 Never thought about it like that, but yeah, yeah I think you are right
Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yNo. I pray psalm 91 for protection daily. I confess healing scripture daily. I workout every 2 days doing isometrics. I supplement with minerals that improve health as well as strengthen my bones. I also do dental routines to ensure no issues there too. I've spent a lot of time learning about health. Without health you have nothing!
00 ReplyYes we all do till we go ill or contract something serious. Always be grateful to God for our health 🙏.
And get well soon. How did it get so serious? The X ray showed fracture. Do you have someone who is helping you around the house? I hope you don't have to move around the house much. It should heal in 2 months. I hope it does. Don't worry 😜
00 Reply100% we do! The youth is wasted on the young! I had the same feeling when I broke my ankle.
10 ReplyWe definitely do when we are younger and then when we get older, we wish we had taken better care if our bodies and pay the price for our poor choices.
At least the medical technology is good now that they can rebuild and repair your leg. Just think where you would be if it was a couple hundred years earlier.00 Reply- 304 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic.

00 Reply8.3K opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. Good luck with the surgery at least you have somebody to take care of you and you’re not alone at home
09 Reply- +1 y
I am alone at home haha, but It’s okay. The doctor said surgery went well, he’ll tell more details tomorrow morning. I had a surgery early morning, I’ll be discharged from hospital 2 days later.
- +1 y
The first two days I was at home, with crutches and a cast on. It was very difficult.
- +1 y
I think after surgery it will be a little easier, as my bone is fixed in one place by the titanium plate. I hope it will get easier.
- +1 y
Yep. I wish I had someone at home, but it is what it is. You can become strong when you have to be strong. I hope I can handle it. I try to be hopeful, I’ll let you know. Sadly my family is thousands of miles away, so I have myself here.
