HELL YES!!! Drs. get rich selling people drugs they don't need so, they TELL YOU you've got a problem just so they can get you on pills you don't need, which cause more problems that get you MORE pills to solve THOSE problems and it just snowballs!!
Also, there's already loads of drugs in our water and in some of our food they sell us that make us psychotic and/or dependent on more drugs!
There's also some in our toothpaste. It's called, fluoride! The nazis used it on their prisoners at the concentration camps to make them more docile and easier to control. Fluoride comes from industrial waste at aluminum factories! It's also not a good idea to cook with aluminum because it leaches into the food you cook in it. The same goes for Teflon.Have you noticed how, suddenly, everyone today is diagnosed as autistic when, 5 years ago, they were perfectly fine?
Have you noticed how the amount of people getting a sex change has gone through the roof in the past 30 to 50 years? The first one I know of was back in the `40's. The next was in the late `60's, I think, Christine Jorgenson. Mid `70's, Wendy Carlos, a few years later several more, by the `90's, thousands more!! Now, it's all the rage!! If you're not trans, you're not cool!! If you're trans AND autistic, you win the coolness lottery!!My grandmother was perfectly fine `til she saw this one Dr. who looked exactly like Fred Flintstone with grey hair!! He told her she had this problem & that problem and he gave her a slew of drugs to deal with these issues she didn't really have!! They made her a LOT worse!! Her daughter found out about all these pills she was taking and knew what they were doing to her and gradually got her off most of them and she started doing a LOT better than she was!!
A few years later, some Dr. I was seeing sent me to this guy and he immediately set ME up with drugs I didn't need, too!! (That's how I know what he looked like!!) I told my aunt about him and she gasped and said, "That's the same guy your grandmother was seeing and he put her on loads of drugs she didn't need!!" So, I stopped taking the pills he gave me, too and never saw him, again.00 Reply

Yes Big Pharma wants to see every person on some drug or several drugs for life. Yes it's all about profits and not helping people. Yes there is a solution to Capitalism driving healthcare. National healthcare. Get rid of private insurance companies, insurance brokers and agents, Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBM's), reinsurance companies, employer insurance plans, arbitration agreements, and a broken court system. Replace it with 1 buyer. The US government beholden to voters, not corporations and their investors. Eliminate Pharmaceutical Corporations ability to bribe doctors to prescribe meds in exchange for cash or a trip to Tahiti.

Yes! It’s a Great way to control people. They know that humans are weak. just by reading these opinions 😂
most point fingers at the government, media, and pharmaceutical, doctors…at the end… it’s the self who listens to the external “pressure”. Blame others… that’s why they are winning.
I had some rashes that kept coming back. I went to the dermatologist… take this cream. It came back.
I went to the western doctors, take this pill. It came back. I went to the herbalist. Take this herb, it came back. I had to read the pills the herbs they prescribed to me.
I learned how they are made. I get the herbs myself and read more about it… it took me 2-3 years. to figured out how to take care of it myself…no more meds.
most illness can be cure by doing some researching and taking the time to learn and can heal up.
once in some pills, there’s side effects then more pills 😂… how/why people fall into this trap so easily.

I know for someone like me medication is necessary. I have a mental illness that keeps it under control and I am very thankful that the medication was offered to me by my psychiatrist. But not all medication should be offered to folks so freely like opioids.
They are such dangerous drugs to be on and yes, some people need it but it should be heavily monitored and restricted from most people because of the opioid epidemic. So many people are dying from it. In those cases, I believe we are indeed overmedicated.
But for someone with a mental illness, I think it is needed for the most part especially those that have serious conditons like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder or ADHD.
My ex has ADHD and needs meds to control it. I am so on board with taking medication for mental health conditions like that.10 Reply

Maybe in america. Personalyl I don't even recall the last time in my life I even took any medication outside of some pill for a hangover once half a decade ago.
10 Reply 1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Umm, absolutely!! When every other commercial is for big Pharma —it’s very revealing and very scary. The only way to resolve the grip big Pharma has on medical profession is quite simply, is to completely overhaul our healthcare system, to make it more in line with other developed countries, which is: STOP HEALTH CARE FOR PROFIT. period, full stop. It never works. It has too many problems that come with it. It would put all medical insurance companies out of business, and we would have to start viewing health care as a basic human right, open and basically free to all, not one that is only available to those who can pay for it.
10 ReplyNot really. I do think a lot of the things we prescribe pills for deserve better study to see if we can address more root causes or find non chemical solutions, but I'm also inclined to follow whatever the best science we have at the time says, ya know? I don't think people deserve to suffer through their lives now if we have an alternative while we work on finding better solutions. But we are studying those things, science just takes time and money, and both are limited.
I also think that people more or less can do what they want their their bodies, so if they receive a prescription that can make their life easier or better, even if it's not medically necessary (ex. they won't literally die without it, but they will be in less or otherwise more manageable pain), then that's between them and their doctor.

Of course we are, especially in America where pharmaceutical companies aka big pharma has a big influence in our government and politics. Our over medication problem has gotten to the point we're prescribing medication treat the side effects of medication, and were now starting to prescribe medication instead of diet and exercise to treat obesity (patients are partly to blame they want a no effort solution). And the worst part of our over medication situation, is were so politically divided, there's no room for a middle of the road stance or solution on the issue of over medication, you have one extreme where all medication bad and the other extreme where all medication is good and your anti science if you believe otherwise.

No, and ill explain, those of you who think im just another junky looking to get high on Medicare, feel free not to share. I've always been active, skiing, climbing , bikes, etc. In 1997 it was determined my knees had. No cartilage left , causing severe pain , in 1998 I was put on opiates by my long time drwho was stingy with that sort of thing. 2002 we moved to Seattle, I had letters from both my Dr and my orthopedic surgeon explaining my issues. Naturally not a single Dr was willing to continue my pain relief. That was the last time I tried, since then nothings changed, and in fact the problems now in my ankles, I've also got other issues but basically , I've been in pain for the last 25 years, ibuprofen helped but im on blood thinners so no more advil.. the DEA has Dr's scared to prescribe anything that works. , I also think its criminal that the strongest pain killers they harvested also the ones first invented. , and your made to feel like an addict just asking for them.

Yeah from birth you literally get jab... bed with a hep B thingy and wtf why? If you got it from the blood from your mum then the medicine wouldn't work (correct me if I'm wrong but a preventative won't work after the fact ie. can't hit your head then put the helmet on after and everything will be ok) and if you got it from any other way then there is some serious shit to be investigated
10 Reply 875 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I don't take any meds personally. It's still up to you what you want to take. If you have like schizophrenia or depression then it's probably better to take meds but for some things it might not be necessary. If you want to change the lobbying you have to change the system as a whole. Just voting differently won't do anything.

in usa yes, it's our garbage diet and lifestyle. stay away from American food, if you have a problem... get good western diagnosis and then find natural solutions to resolve or alternative medicine.
our medical system are drug pushers, and overly surgical. it's a sales organization...
sadly, they don't make any commercials like that on Saturday morning cartoons or "must see tv " commercials.
which reminds me... turn the tv off...
10 Reply 899 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Certainly in the USA you are.
The first port of call should not be a pill , and the idea that you can just take a pill and all will be fine is just plain stupid , not only Big Pharma , but the entire vitamin industry , overdosing people on sht they simply don't need.
Companies like Usana saying overdose is better.
It's seriously out of control , think hard before taking anything , and don't blindly follow , nor finish scripts when you just don't need to.10 Reply3.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Think that's more of a US problem. But it is a problem. However future predictions is it's only going to become more so, doubly however future pills will be less negative.
So not sure this will be a big problem, currently it is with Pills having many adverse side effects.
10 Reply21.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Yes, there are medications that are prescribed to fix how messed up people get by taking other medications. Itt is crazy. Everyone wants to believe that just taking a pill will fix all your problems.
Fat people are now taking a drug that was developed for diabetes. It does create weight loss but once you stop taking the drug, you gain all the weight back. How conveenient for the drug company20 Reply1.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. ya think?
We get to see and have to list the medications our patients are on when we get called to their house, and holy crap, I have no idea how some of these people have room for food they are on so many pills.
It makes you wonder what would happen if they just stopped taking everything? Would they be better?
It seems that half of the pills are to combat the side effects from the other half that they take.10 Reply9.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. It depends on what the pills are for and who has prescribed them. I know people that refuse to take medicines because they think they are bad for them and they wind up being incredibly ill as a result because they refuse to care for themselves appropriately. These are the same people who think that so-called natural methods are going to control their disorders. And of course, if that actually worked there would be no need for the pills but it doesn't work.

Overall, yes. Unfortunately, people tend think they can do almost anything they want and then "get it fixed with a pill". Why not start to structure our lives a bit better so as to not require the pill in the first place? So many of the new meds are "MABS", mono-clonal antibodies, drugs which suppress the body's natural responses. But by overloading the body with our behaviors and diets, sometimes the body's natural responses alone just can't handle things.

not in Germany... doctors here are very sparing in prescribing medications :D
most things are cured with rest and sleep :D20 Reply - 12 d
Yes overmedicated. Big Pharma gives meds for doctors to push on their patients, and patients to tell the doctor what they want, regardless of whether needed or not. Why do doctors give patients antibiotics for a virus? All new medicines should be released through hospitals to better track them and their side effects.
10 Reply 7.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Yeah I totally agree.
Also, I swear so many more people are autistic now even though no one would have ever noticed that these "autistic" individuals even had it. Autistic essentially just means socially awkward now.
Back when I was a kid, autistic used to refer to the most extreme cases.

In a for-profit healthcare system? That danger absolutely exists. See all the scandalous pill mills that grifted billions off of OxyContin, despite many warnings about the large impact on society. Where was congress?

A lot of the "medication" is just placebo's to make people think they are being "cured".

Me personally? No. I don’t even take pain killers. As for the rest of Western Civilization … oh yeah. Y’all are floating on an ocean of chemical concoctions.
10 Reply - 14 d
I think that because so many people don't care for each other like they should. People have had to turn to medication to try and help themselves cope.
10 Reply - 12 d
It seems that way. No doctors want to get to the root of the problem they just want to use chemicals on you.
