What is a routine or anything you've added to your life that has changed it for the better?

there's been a few as well... through the years
I think one of the most impactful ones was, to drag myself onto the football/soccer fields and socialize, play with others kids (I started this since elementary school) because this is the way I started to overcome my painful shyness when I was very young, lol... and after all these years, I still keep this routine of hitting the fields whenever I can, which has kept me healthier, of course
another one I picked up was during my early 20's and it was also life changing... my eating habits and routine... from eating twice a day (and not the best choices) I went to eat way smaller portions and about three to five times a day, this really helped my digestive system, lol
and another one I started in my early teens and still keep up with it today, has been introspection, I tried meditation as well... but "clarity of mind" was not something easy for me to achieve, lol... but yes, introspection and "redrawing" myself and all of my issues back then gave me a lot of perspective about myself and many other things... which in turn made it easier for me to reach and to open up with the close ones in my life... it pretty much and literally, saved my life
You really do have your stuff together Nathan. You're a very wise person.
thank you, I do try... and it's been a life time process too (=
as many things are, especially good habits...
I spend less time on here because it hurts to have people I care about ignore me, while they have a good ole time with others. Then I come on here, your name pops up and I suddenly I have this flood of emotions. I also bought a new pair of pants that make my tushy look really sexy. I think I’ll buy a new pair each week. It just makes me feel better.
A new outfit can always make you feel better and give your confidence a boost.
Gym membership that allows me to attend classes again. It's not covered by my insurance as it was before, which is why I put off joining a gym again, but It's great to get the energy return that exercise and caring for yourself gives.
New gym has a water massage chair you can spend 10 minutes at a time in. Tried it today. It's a pretty good cheap thrill! Will have to learn how to adjust it better next time.
Classes are cycling, floor pilates, vinyasa yoga. Haven't been to boxing, but would like to attend that. A lot of variety. Also have done barre. Different from other gym. But this is a smaller place, super clean and well managed. A pleasure.
It makes all the difference in the world when you exercise and eat healthier. You just feel amazing.
You bet your life. Was having a discussion with a woman who defended not taking care of herself because of her other obligations. I told her she needs to make herself her top priority. She said she'd gotten by on 2 or 3 hours of sleep "for years." She was bragging about how she'd sacrificed for her children.
I told her that is a great way to burn out as a parent. You need time away from EVERYONE on a daily basis. If it's only half an hour to take a walk. You need at least 6 hours of sleep per night and preferably 7.5 to 8. Otherwise, you'll start hallucinating and your work will suffer.
I'm no martyr and I wasn't one when my son was a baby and toddler and I worked full time too. I went to the gym. There is a way if you think enough of yourself. Some people aren't taught to, though.
It's sad.
2 to 3 hours? That's so unhealthy
I believe this person was a martyr for her children/job/family life.
I put up a pull up bar on my ceiling. Not for actual pull-ups cause the clearance from the ceiling is too small, but for stretching. I'll reach up, grab and just kind of hang there for a minute.
It really does help so much to stretch first thing.

I've involved God but to be honest, lately I've been kinda separating again so things have been getting worse, I got things to work on you know, but yoga, nice, happy stretching mandy 🤣
It's definitely a process to find peace of mind. That's why I love meditating
I understand, it's good to seek for peace of mind, I wish you well with it 💯🙏🏽
i usually wake up at 4am and do a "slow wake-up" of about an hour (but really i have to because of my career)
i practice many hours a day and have since age 4
i let everyone else handle details i don't have to personally handle myself. if i'm buying a house, all i want to do is sign the papers when they're ready
We, as a family, recently decided to add more raw vegetables, and locally sourced meat to our diet. Definitely an energy booster from the vegetables. We also like the fact that any of the protein derived from animals was raised within 30 miles of our home.
I'll add this, I can't say enough about how good various stretches feel in the morning as I age.
This wonderful young lady from Kentucky has been teasing me relentlessly for months now, and I'm happier than I've been in years ❤️

I'm doing a calorie deficit diet right now along with some walking. i managed to lose a pound a day so far. if i get my weight down to a good level that would be life changing for me. so this diet is potentially life changing.
Congratulations. I'm happy that you're feeling better and eating better.
Yes. i got most of my other things in my life under control. my weight will be another heh
You will do great.
I routinely get most all my food from small, local producers who don't use hormones in their meats or put pesticides on their veggies. I also cut stupid people out of my life. LOL
I added meditation and yoga, years ago and I'm very thankful that I did!
It definitely works for sure
Definitely not meditating, that stuff got me depressed, haha; Going out to buy stuff every other day definitely helps for my sanity.
Meditation made you depressed?
Whenever I get up, I make sure to take something with me that belongs in another room. Just to group it together for cleaning later.

Definitely going to the gym and lifting weights. I was tiny growing up and throughout high school and I got to a size I never thought was achievable and am so proud that I discovered that and have put in the time and effort.
eating less (and healthier) and moving more.
So far so good.
I started saving 15% of my income from every check for retirement since i was 25. It has made a huge impact on my financial position. I have a higher net worth than most of my peers that make more then me. Most of them think I'm some kind of whiz with money. I'm not, I just started early and put as much as I could in when I started because I didn't know for how long I'd be able to continue. I've been pretty fortunate thus far.
