Can you tell that someone has a cold just by standing next to them?

I had this situation when I came to a meeting with a guy with whom I have an instructor-client relationship. I wasn't feeling too good (I had a bit of a stuffy nose and my throat was a bit sore), but IT was nothing too serious, I mean no one at home really noticed. However, this instructor stood next to me and suddenly asked: 'Are you sick?'. This surprised me and I starter wondering whether others can say that somebody is unwell or not?

Yes I have a strange ability where I can feel if someone is sick or not. If I get to close to someone and their throat hurts mine will hurt or if their stomach hurts I will be able to feel that in myself. Same thing if someone is tired, energetic etc but then as i distance myself that feeling goes away.

Being around people when you have a sore throat is pretty damn selfish.

Might be. But doctors don't think so. None of them would give you a sick leave just because you have a sore throat. That's why you have to live with the vision that there are people WHO for their own survival have to come into contact with the perfectly healthy ones when they have a sore throat.
