Why does hot dry heater air kick up my asthma?

I adjusted the vents on my homes hvac system so one of them were blowing on me while I was watching TV. Took a few minutes for me to figure it out, but it was like every time it turned on my asthma would kick up.

Yeah, I definitely have more issues when the the heater or ac isn't running as much. It's better now that I re adjusted the vents. I have one blowing right where I sit all the time.

I'm in tx. A lot of time in the winter it doesn't run much if it's only 60 outside. Usually the whole month of March and April it doesn't need to be on much. You can turn just the blower motor on without ac or heat if you want air circulation though.

The dry air will irritate your lungs as well a the dust from your vents and house when the heater turns on.

My partner has asthma and it is always worse for her during the winter.

It dries the air, I know my dad struggles where its hot and dry. But when the air is damp he's fine

I actually thought my inhaler quit working lol. A soon as I moved the vent back away I was fine again. I have to do the same thing with the heater in the truck. I keep it on the floor because it also dries my eyes out and makes them burn

Luckily we always have like 80 percent humidity in my area.
