What's you BMI? (body mass index)

Question

Are you underweight, healthy, overweight or obese?  Mine is 17.5- underweight :(

Allot of people seem to hate the BMI index but they must realize that it is general and used only with combination of waist circumference (men less than 40 in, and women less than 35 in). This is more for unhealthy, unfit people to determine if they are prone to health risks such as diabetes and heart disease, someone who is physically fit may not categorize appropriately into the BMI index, but clearly is not at risk.. Fitness of the heart and lungs gained through regular exercise is also independent of the BMI.

BMI is complete sh*t, by the way :P The creators of it never intended it to be used for health purposes, they simply wanted to categorize the population. Plus, people who are technically underweight or overweight can be healthy if they have a healthy lifestyle.

lol, BMI is such bullsh*t. You know that according to BMI a lot of athletes who are fit as balls are considered obese?

even BMI wasn't meant to be used to tell people what their BMI should be, it was something to see the average for polish people in the late 1800s... lol

Almost the borderline of underweight and healthy. Considers myself the epitome of skinniness (for a guy); don't eat much and practice a multitude of sports (but predominantly football; or soccer as Americans have named it).

This BMI calculator is wrong because everyone's body is different and I have more muscle on my body from training. It's not fat, and muscle weights more than fat.

I am low in the normal weight range. But I honestly think BMI is bs.

Some people have bigger wider frames, some have smaller. This thing only calcs with height and weight. Some people have more muscle too.

Bmi isn't the most accurate tool to use to determine body mass. It's a  general estimate, but that's about it.

It really depends on what you're applying it to, people.  If you have osteoarthritis in your knee, it doesn't matter if the weight is coming from upper body muscle or fat.  It's still weight on your joint.
