It's weird when people do that honestly and it's a double standard. My girlfriend used to be close friends with a fat girl who would make rude comments about "skinny bitches" in front of her knowing my girlfriend is skinny. Her excuse was that being skinny is the "beauty standard" but obviously skinny people get made fun of all the time so it can't be seen as that beautiful.

These days it's a lot more common for thick body types to be considered the most beautiful, and skinny girls get shamed and called flat.

Not yet no but in the following years it would come back full force just like low rise. personally I prefer the older trends but the new skinny one and low rise are definitely coming back.
I'm thankful to have been born during the thick slim era cause it's a lot easier to follow than skinny one and guys around my age would most likely still prefer this kind of body even after the trends ending but for the new generation / following years they would definitely be in the new era of super skinny. Fat shaming would comeback (even healthy weight shaming will comeback).

In this instance, some can take skinny to the extreme and it usually ends up having their lives end too. Sometimes shaming is the only thing that might work. Because honestly, some of these both fat and skinny people think they look good.

because it is ok. "shaming" is a social mechanism meant to help individuals stay within a range of what society has deemed most healthy. so if you're too fat, you'll be shamed back to a more healthy, slimmer weight. and if you're too skinny, you're shamed back to a more fuller shape.

and the reason why i think this is not a problem is: these social ideas of what's healthy and what's unhealthy align pretty well with what we know from science and the implications of certain body fat ranges for individual health.

I think skinny people are being viewed as a symbol of the anti-thicc movement so they are the ones being targeted for revenge now that chubby/fat/whatever is more accepted.

Go to an Asian country and you will see rather infuriating beauty standards. I really don't blame people for getting super pissed off at those bullshit standards but directed at the fashion industry, not skinny people who haven't done anything.
