So I’m 23 years old, go to the gym, etc. for the past 1-2 years, I’ve been using the sauna after workouts consistently about 5 times a week on average. For about 30-35 minutes a day. Recently as of 1-2 months ago, I’ve began slightly sweating in my sleep, but I’d never drenched nor would it happen everyday. But it’s evident on my face, neck, and chest area. It would happen once every 2-3 days. Not everyday. 6 months prior, I’ve been sweating in my underarms at times. I have no other symptoms as well and I feel energized, healthy, etc. like I said , I’m never getting drenched or soaked. But it’s evident when I wake up. I would say it’s mild sweating. Is this normal and has anyone else experienced this?
like i said, it’s on and off mild sweating.

Hey man, mild night sweats like that every now and then are probably nothing major to worry about. A few things that might be causing it:
- The sauna use - sweating a lot during the day can mean your body temperature is elevated even at night sometimes. All that heat exposure could be making you sweat more in your sleep.
- Diet - fast food and coffee are gonna rev your metabolism up. All those stimulants and fats might have your body working overtime even when you're resting.
- Stress - are you feeling extra anxious or worried about anything? Stress can make the sweat glands act up.
As long as it's not soaking through your clothes every night and you feel fine otherwise, I wouldn't stress (no pun intended!). But you might try cutting back the sauna time or coffee before bed to see if it helps. Def keep an eye on it - if it gets worse or you start getting other symptoms, mention it to your doc. But for now, sounds pretty normal man. Just make sure to stay hydrated!
Hi, Curious
what you describe has zero implications in western medicine. you’ll be told to wear cooler pjs and open the windows when you go to bed. you’ll find it isn’t an external issue that causes this, you sweat regardless.
in traditional medicine, however, the body is obviously trying to say something. spontaneous sweating is, of course, unusual
this could be due to various factors: sweating at night is a sign of Yin deficiency. sweating without exertion is a sign of Qi deficiency.
my guess is it started out with qi deficiency (eating unhealthy, being fatigued, possibly shortness of breath) and then developed into yin deficiency (heat signs and night sweats which is the body saying “I’m running out of steam” ♨️
you’ll be surprised how easy it is to resolve. you sound like you’re quite in tune with your body. i know many people who turn on the ac and just move on with their lives. your body can regulate and wants to
there’s food and herbal treatment; lifestyle adjustment; or the easiest might be acupuncture. i’d recommend talking to an acupuncturist trained in traditional medicine. if you’re in california, i might be able to treat you
take care
Try a cooling blanket or comforter. They have cold pillow cases and lots of things to help you keep cold and not sweat!
Thanks, would you say my case seems normal or not serious?
And not serious *
