Do tongue piercings hurt as badly as I imagine they do?

I idea of piercing a muscle sounds painful and kind of scary, but I'm looking for something new to pierce so I thought I'd ask.

If you don't have any tongue piercing knowledge, share your experience with other types of piercings. Give me ideas. I only have my nose and regular ear piercings currently.

I've got/had a few piercings.

Tongue - the pain is completely tolerable. The clamp hurts a bit, but you can barely feel the needle.

Monroe - hurt less than tongue. This was probably my least painful piercing (except for regular ears)

Belly button - didn't hurt much either. I was pretty young when I got it and it gave me no trouble.

I would think that all three hurt much less than nose. Tongue and lip are more invasive, but they heal much quicker with the correct care. The most painful piercing I've had is the cartilage in my ear. That huuurrrtt.

it didn't hurt at all I've had mine done twice. and I didn't even feel a thing. it gets swollen just a little bit well mine did and that's about it though not a huge deal I'm geting it again when I get my braces off so excited lol also my belly but trust me toung is prabably the least painfull peircing.

I've had my nipple done, bad idea, painful and sometimes they don't heal well. Had to take it out after a few months, couldn't handle it :)

It hurts about as bad as stretching your ear. Which isn't that bad if you wait long enough

ive recently gotten my belly button periced hurt like hell but only for a sec. It's still healing and iv'e noticed I get it caught on a lot of things. I should of rethought it other than getting it. I have to clean it 2 times a day at least and navel percings take a super long time to heal . Can't wait to get my tounge periced next.

the most painfull part of getting your tounge peirced is the clamp that they use to hold your tounge still while they peirce it. the worst part is the first few days after cause your toungs swollen its hard to talk and the constant rincing after food and drink even smoking but the pain is very lil

The people I know that have 'em always say 'it didn't hurt that bad' but that has to be a facade. It wouldn't make sense for them not to hurt like a bitch.
