Who does the vast majority of the back-breaking and dangerous jobs?

Jobs like construction/tradesman, electrical linemen, refinery workers, oil roughnecks, miners, shipping and transportation, manufacturing, farming, communications infrastructure, military, athletes, etc. All of these and many more routinely result in the maiming and deaths of workers, and also negatively affect the long-term health of those who survive the actual job.

No one is saying that cleaning and child raising is easy, but it doesn't destroy your body like blue-collar jobs do. And when you look at very large samples of workers, you definitely see the effects of those jobs in the statistics.

Other than auto accidents, very, very few women have jobs that could maim or kill them on any given day. Tons of men have those jobs, and the vast majority of them are working those jobs to feed their families.
