Does Benadryl (acrivastin) help to treat a headache and fever and runny nose that isn't caused by any allergies, or did I waste money?

Benadryl is best for treating inflammation. It can definitely work for certain allergy symptoms like swelling, or redness, and runny noses. However if you want a fever reducer I’m not sure it does that, but an NSAID like ibuprofen (advil) is both a fever-reducer and helps with headaches. Acetaminophen, or Tylenol, works in much the same way. You may need multiple allergy treatments depending on your symptoms.

It just calms down histamines which cause itching or runny nose. The generic is exactly the same for about 80% less cost.

Tylenol is good for fevers and headaches.

Perhaps you should be taking Tylenol for those symptoms. Antihistamines work different and don't qquell symptoms like you have.
