When I brush my teeth, I vomit, I throw up. What should I do? What do you suggest? If it goes like that I am gonna lose all my teeth. What should I do?
1 yAt the very least you can try mouthwash as some form of hygiene upkeep. Not being mean but if you are serious about hygienic alternatives there's always that, and a method I've heard of called oil pulling with coconut oil. A tablespoon of coconut oil swished in the mouth for 10 minutes then spit out apparently whitens teeth, kills bacteria and strengthens teeth as well as toxins that are normally missed by regular brushing alone. Don't know your medical condition or ailment but if you are able to handle those ideas and they are helpful then you got nothing to lose.

1 yYou might need some psychological help. Have you tried different toothpaste or one of those brushes like I have where it just spins on its own so you don't have to look like you're ramming a cock in your mouth?

I also use a normal toothbrush as well during the day after eating and some mouthwash. Strange that I only picked up good brushing habits like this now when I should've had them all the way back in my teens when I still consumed sugars and other simple carbs, and braces.
You got to learn some mental gymnastics to get past your puke reflex. Look into cognitive psychology. Feeling + Thought = Perception. Figure out the basics that's giving you the perception of wanting to puke.

Try brushing your teeth on an empty stomach.
It's really not a dentist you need to see, you need to see an ear, nose, and throat doctor to see what's going on with your throat and find out why you gag reflex is getting set off so easily.14 Reply
Asker1 yShoul I go to ear, nose and throat doctor instead of a dentist you sure? Can he find the cure?

I went and had a lot of dental work done for two months because my employer paid 100% so the dentist did as much work on me as possible. He even told me that I was his down payment on his Porsche.
Anyway, when we are having dental work done we cannot swallow. They get our saliva out for us with that suction instrument.
But we continue to move that thing in our throats because it's natural for us to swallow our saliva.
I believe mine was damaged during a dental visit. I kept trying to swallow because it's a natural thing out bodies do right?
Well it was dry swallowing and it broke my swallower. So now I GaG very easy.
Yes, I do believe that and ENT doctor would be better than a dentist.
He's an ear, nose and THROAT doctor right?
Your GaG reflexes are in your throat.

They usually rinse your mouth and suck it out with the suction hose often. There should be no reason you have to swallow anything if they are doing their job correctly.

Or is it the actual toothpaste that nauseates you?

1 ySome dentists will have their patients "dry brush" their teeth. Brush your teeth, just don't use any toothpaste. Rinse. Repeat.

And you can use a belt sander on your teeth too. I don't know if dry brushing does anything. It's like trying to remove dried food from your dishes with no water.

@Daniela1982 It actually does work for me, as one part of a three pronged attack on plaque. The brush has to be a fairly new one, though.
1 ySee a dentist / doctor and discuss the issue you have to find a solution.
Perhaps it is hitting Uvula, maybe the taste/texture, or someother factor just please get this sorted out and don’t just go “oh I just won’t brush” because that is not a solution.
Talk to a doctor / dentist and figure this out man.

Asker1 yYeah I think ı should find a solution
1 yI low-key kind of relate. For this reason I only really brush the front of my tongue, I don't go all the way to the back of my tongue. The tongue has always been the trickiest part to me. I brush all my teeth and the front of my tongue. Mouthwash is also another option but I hate the way mouthwash literally burns the inside of my mouth.
So in the end brushing the back of my tongue just isn't worth it, because I'll end up throwing up and undoing all my progress brushing and flossing anyway, and have to start all over again.

Asker1 yİs this as beneficial as the toothbrush?
Opinion Owner1 yMore, as it can get places a toothbrush can't.
Asker1 yHmm, when this thing do the job I can swallow the thing right it is just with water?
Opinion Owner1 yYes, just water. I just bend over the sink and let the water drain out of my open yap while doing it.

1 yOther cultures never brush their teeth and have fantastically bright teeth. I met my ex-fiance, who was from Indioa, back when we were both 34 and she'd never brushed her teeth a day in her life `til she met me and had the most fantastically bright white teeth I've ever seen!! Any time the lights went out, all she had to do was smile to light up the room!! A few years after she started brushing them, she got a nasty gum infection that had to be cleaned out.

1 ySee a doctor and a dentist about your condition. (Hopefully, of course, it doesn't happen, but since you're a [I assume by your username] Southern lad, you can go to West Virginia, where people are legally barred from having more than four teeth!!!)

1 yAre you sending it all the way back to your uvula or is it the taste of toothpaste that does it?

Asker1 yIt s happening when I just brush with a toothbrush too. It s not up to toothpaste
So when you changed the flavor it was the same problem?
Asker1 yYeah ı brushed just with toothbrush no toothpaste it was the same problem. It was less than brushing with a toothpaste but still there is a problem
That leads me to believe it’s probably how you’re brushing than anything

1 yTalk to your doctor or dentist. In the meantime, try brushing your teeth without toothpaste ( the taste could be what bothers you), and use a mouthwash, swirl it around and spit it out.
