I wrestled for 6 years and for several of them I was cutting weight with my senior year I cut from 148 to 125lbs. Are there any long term effects on my body from that?

When I was in wrestling we were required to get written permission from a doctor before we cut weight. This was strictly enforced by the coaches. No permission, no cutting, not even one pound. My doctor wouldn't give me permission so I couldn't cut weight.
When you are high school age, you are growing rapidly. Yes, I could see that causing long term damage. You especially shouldn't be cutting that much weight. Cutting a few pounds to make weigh-in is one thing. Cutting 27 pounds is very different. I've never seen any studies on it, but I just can't see that being good for your health. Yes, you could have done long term or permanent damage.
Damaging your health is not worth whatever advantage there is in wrestling. It's probably not even an advantage since I can't see you being in top form when you've lost that much weight.
I'm assuming you were a healthy weight to start with. If you were fat, that's a different story.
Today it is 7% body fat as long as I am 7% body fat I am legal to wrestle. I cut weight because I loss a wrestle off at 148 and 140 the closest weight class open on the team was 126 so coach said if I wanted to wrestle varsity 126 was the weight class I needed to be in
7% is very borderline and I don't think that should be legal. Only under ideal circumstances would that be healthy, and even then it's pretty darn borderline.
You also need to allow for growth. I assume in high school the weight classes still increase through the season to allow for normal growth.
Yeah we have gotten our 2lb allowance. I am currently at 7% body fat and I have to get checked by the athletic trainer everyday to make sure I dont drop below7%. I feel like I have grown enough as I am 5'11 and have not grown in the past 3 months
