32 years in healthcare I have seen people who want the most uncomfortable terrible things done to them. Not once in 32 years have I ever seen someone excited to get the needle I am giving them. Wasps and bees have stings a a venom defense but also because mammals don't like getting jabbed with sharp things. It's instinct to not like needles. Take my word as a guy who once let pediatric residents practice their IV techniques on me before I let them give kids IV. You never get to the point where you like needles.
@NathanDavis *cough* *cough*
@12karen well, hello...
@NathanDavis helloer, you should meet that man.
helloerrrrrrrr 🙃
not at all, no...
actually, I do like needles
and blades too
@7Phoenix7 you don't like needles?
Yeah i pass out if I watch them go into the skin. I didn't use to be scared of needles but because of all my pregnancies and bad experiences with them now I'm scared. Especially for placing IVs they can never find my veins so it takes multiple pokes
Naw
*sees needle screams and runs into the wall*

I tolerate them when I absolutely must. What I dislike are health care providers who are clueless about how to use them properly, can't find a vein to save their soul, etc.
I'm not scared of the needle but I am scared of the person that's going to jab me with it!!
Not really they just kind of gross me out like I can't watch it go in the skin and have blood come out.. I don't know why.. but like ever since watching Intervention and seeing drug addicts put it in there arms or wherever they have a good veins it grosses me out and gives me that creepy feeling. It's weird because the pain or getting little jabs don't bother me it is the needle itself that seems gross LOL.
Yes, I hate them. When I has my flight physical it was the first time i ever had blood drawn. They must have filled a dozen test tubes with my blood and the tech sent me over to the main desk for the next test. By the time I got there my ears were ringing so loud i could not hear what the nurse was saying.
I'm freaking weird about needles I prefer to have them in the back of my hand and for some reason I HAVE to watch it go in. I think it's a self-control thing where I have to be fully aware of what's happening to my body during those things.
It's not as scary as it used to be. If I know at least a day ahead of time I can prepare and it's not a big deal. It's just painful, and I have to wind down my body's overreaction, which is frustrating.
Ouch. Fear of pain is natural. We need that instinct to avoid pain.
If justified we overcome the fear not "not fear" but then the debate what jabs are justified. You know.
No but I have felt some people needed more practice than others. Nurses are generally better than doctors.
I'm not. Patients feel 0,3 mm silicone coated hypodermic needle barely. Lack of pain removes all the phobias.
No, i'm just not having whatever is in the needle. But I have had my blood taken before and while very unpleasant thats not scary.
Immunization injections. I have no problem with, it’s IVs that I can feel an eel going into the vein and it drives me through the roof. If they can’t do it quickly, I usually need my partner to support me then.
I use to be more than I am now. I am a diabetic so I have to give myself shots.
No, I am not. It also depends on the place and the experience of the person giving it
To be honest I don't like any metal touching my body metal skin and electric do not go together
No, but I'm not fond of IVs. The idea of sticking a needle in a vein creeps me out.
I used to give myself my allergy shots, and as an EMT you do a lot of IVs, so no, they do not bother me at all.
I'm not a fan, that much is certain. I just accept that most vaccines come with a needle.
Nope. They never bothered me in the slightest.
I used to be. I avoided going to the dentist and doctor for years because of this. I chalk it up to bad experiences when I was younger that gave me this phobia. Because a needle ain't nothing to me now.
As a kid, I use to. The school was offering flu shots to the kids and we kept making fun of those who cry so I had to pretend it didn't scare me. And it wasn't so bad after all.
Vaccines are quick so I don't mind.
Getting a blood test looks too fucking weird for me
Kinda not scared per say but I don't want to see it
Depends where the needle is placed, most males can agree with that.
Fuck, yeah I’m terrified of needles. I hate that shit even to this day.
Yep yet I'm in healthcare. I can poke you but you cannot poke me lol
No, not at all.
Not at all. I work in the medical field.
Nah, not a big deal.
