Do you use lotion when you go sunbathing?

Nope. Simple research shows since sunblock was developed the level of melanoma has increased, not decreased.
Why rub artificial chemicals onto the largest organ in your body, developed by using byproducts of petrochemicals, and expect it to work better than the melanin your body naturally produces with exposure to sunlight.
Additional fun fact, sunblock can dramatically reduce the vitamin D you produce as a result of exposure to the sun, which allows your body to absorb calcium and boost your immune system.
Definitely when I'm in Barbados
@liams95
Take me with you next time
I'm not a big sun worshiper and hardly ever sun bathed.
But the last time I was out in the sun we did put suntan lotion on.
But now it's sunscreen 🧴 lotion. Bummer!
I avoid direct sun at all costs. I love the beach and the outdoors in general, but I make sure I am in the shade.

Only if I am going to be out in high sun for more than a half-hour.
Not sure about the difference between "lotion" and "sunscreen."
But either way, I'd say lotion probably not, but sunscreen most definitely yes.
My skin is literally like 10x more sensitive than the average person's, not sure if autism and hypersensitivity also play a part in it for me, but either way, sunburns hurt A LOT for me. Like so much I can barely move. Other people think I'm exaggerating, but I'm really, really not!
Yes. With titanium dioxide or zinc oxides. I'm not sure about lot of other organic filters used in sunscreen. Some of them have been banned despite those were "safe" over decades before.
I don't get sunburn without sun cream but I find tanning looks better when sun exposure is weaker. Especially lot of UVB exposure seems to increase skin cancer risk.
Always. I love the sun I love the water.. I have a boat and on the weekends. I would always go to the lake. And I used to just get the best hand ever for the last past 2 years. I haven't really done anything in summertime. But I need to start again. And yes when I'm in the Sun. I need that lotion that is for sure
Tanning is so bad for your skin! :( I personally wear sunscreen always, winter or summer, and I try to wear long sleeves and hats unless it's simply too hot.
sun exposure is 100% not bad for you.
@seeyounexttuesday 100%? You've heard of sunburn and skin cancer, right?
@SweetDripp yup. You've heard about Vitamin D, right? Skin cancers from sun exposure are slow growing, easy to catch and highly treatable.
@seeyounexttuesday So because some cancers are treatable, that means they aren't bad for you? Are you insane?
@SweetDripp It makes more sense to you that humans have evolved for millions of years to live on a planet where the sun is deadly to them?
@seeyounexttuesday It makes perfect sense. People used to be covered with lots of body hair which protected them from the sun. With less body hair and greater coverage with clothing, it makes perfect sense that humans evolved in such a way that provides less natural protection from the sun and therefore leaving us more vulnerable to the damaging effects of sunlight. Thank you for proving my point.
@SweetDripp lol, clothes didn’t change our evolution. Meanwhile lack of sunlight is VERY bad for you.
@seeyounexttuesday I never said there was no benefit to sunlight exposure, but you claimed it is 100% not bad for you which is demonstrably false.
@SweetDripp It isn’t. It’s good for you.
@seeyounexttuesday Excessive sun exposure, like tanning, causes DNA damage and aging and is linked to cancer. We need some sun exposure for Vitamin D, of course.
@TheRealPepperPotts I live in part thanks to sunscreen and hats and more
I use that 100+ sunscreen. Turns out I still tan but at least I don't turn into a red lobster that is going to shed my skin like a snake in 3 days. Just lotion alone... ah hell no.
Real funny story. While at the beach with my boyfriend I accidentally spilt the tub all over my boobs. Next thing I know my boyfriend has dragged me back to the camper van and is covering my tits in his own cream
I don't blame I'm i would've lost it to! Are the big?
Not always, but if it's at a clothes optional/nude beach I definitely do and rub it into my you-know-what, can't have that sunburned !
I don't sunbathe - but also don't avoid the sun.
After 21 years in the tropics I am adapted.
Still have some sun blocker, but it's many years old now :)
I can't use sunscreen (chemical allergies) and I never was one to go out to tan.
Of course I do. I’m a Florida native who knows what the sun can do!
I definitely use sunscreen if I’m going to be out in the sun for awhile, I don’t really go out to sunbathe, I burn too easy and it ages your skin faster
I don't go sunbathing. I just showed up here burnt
Definitely. Sunscreen is essential to protecting your skin.
I rarely bathe in the sun. If I’m outdoors when the sun is shinning intensely then I’d always wear sun block. Only the delusional think the they needn’t isn’t dangerous. Skin cancer is real !
Since I'm wheatish fair south Asian guy. I don't go for sunbathing neither I like it.
No, i hardly ever get sunburnt i tan quite easily
Don’t believe in cooking my skin. Wear clothing to protect against UV rays!
Always, coppertone
@jhoward
I saw an old advertisement for copper tone, a little dog had the girls bikini bottom pulled partly down to show her tan
I use as little as possible only when necessary. My body has adapted to the sun over the years
I do not sunbathe per se, but I always use a good, waterproof sunblock while surfing.
Nope never use any I have the factory tint from god don't need it
yeppers, trying to keep what I did as a kid from possibly getting worse in my life as I get older.
Zero TY Mediterranean skin!! Mineral oil however...
Yea I have to or I will turn into a lobster
No because i don't do the tanning.
I don't go sunbathing.
Yes, I use sunscreen 😊
I use sunscreen but do not really sunbathe
@jennz6 Sun Block
Never! My skin rarely ever burns
I haven't used lotion since I was a kid

If I use lotion it is not for sunbathing….
