Does anyone else cut their hair when they’re sad?

I had a tough day in court today came home took a shower and still felt like 💩 so I decided to cut my hair with some scissors.

I did when I was 4... I was sad and annoyed that being redhead brings so much attention to me... when I simply wanted to be left alone...

so I cut my hair near my skin when I was in kindergarten... my mom forced me to wear a scarf on my head for many months... and it still drew a lot of attention... :D

I gave up cutting my hair after this :D

No... I isolate myself when I'm sad. I need time to deal with my emotions and just think... How short did you cut it?

That's quite a thing for a woman to do. Must be overwhelming. I tend to sit in a shower or spa bath or do something extremely energetic to get rid of tension and stress of sadness and empty feelings.

A ride on my bike too works too as it gets me out in to the true vulnerability of existence and I realise the good things are still around

Aya... never felt that urge except when my damn bangs keep poking my eyeballs. Sorry to hear things have gotten to this point. Less focus on trying to look the way you feel. Dress for success. Fake it till you make it. Can't do that if you're ruining your hair, which I find the most radiant part of a woman after personality.

Maybe I would give myself a line up, but I have locs, so you know... I'm wouldn't cut.. I really just pace and converse with the thoughts in my mind til I don't want to.. Or just watch something to ease my mind..

That's a sign of poor mental health. If you feel like having any body mods or self harm when you are feeling down that is you trying to cope.
