I had Nexplanon for 5 years but it caused consistent spotting over the last year I had it. I got my Mirena inserted 02/17. The first 6 weeks I had severe cramping almost every single day. I couldn’t workout or even go for a light walk. During that time I had my follow up and my doctor could see or find my strings, I had an ultrasound done and everything was in place.
Two weeks ago I had a cyst rupture (never had cyst before). I had an ultrasound done when I went to the ER which again confirmed placement and then last week had another one to make sure everything healed okay.
I’m not sure if this is for me though. I still get light cramping almost every night. I haven’t had sex because I’m absolutely terrified since every time I had an ultrasound I had severe cramping after. My doctor wants me to wait until 6 months because by then we will know how my body is handling it.
Also I can’t take estrogen due to migraines with aura. Any other options?

Maybe just don’t have sex? I’ve never had sex before and that’s by choice. It’s not hard.

We want to have kiddos in the future so tying my tubes isn’t an option. Thank you for your input.

Condoms would be the only other option I know except the shots , you can ask the doctor tho
