If people guessed were to guess your age, would they guess older or younger?

I get younger guesses all the time. But I've pondered that and I think there are several reasons for it. So it's really hard to determine the "reality" of why people think I'm younger than I am.

A lot of people just suck at guessing other people's age. I'm one of them.
People can age at radically different rates. Smoking & alcohol plus a bad diet vs fitness and a good diet. And some of it is probably genetic too.
I've run, lifted, biked, skied, backpacked, and swum my whole life. I've always been fit. I've always eaten a good diet.
I put effort into my grooming. Haircut, beard trim, eyebrows, nose hair, ear hair, pubic hair, fingernails, toenails, skin care. And as luck would have it, I still have a full head of hair with zero receding hairline.
I put effort into my wardrobe. I'm usually one of the best dressed guys in any room.
Meanwhile I see guys who haven't had a haircut in 6 weeks, a neck beard, shaggy eyebrows, nose hair, a black forest growing out of their ears, etc.
Also a lot of guys just seem to give up and stop caring about fitness around 30 or so. Beer guts up front and butt crack around back. Man boobs and back titties. Sunken chests. Chicken legs. It's obvious they have never been in a gym. And it's also obvious they eat crap.
Meanwhile these guys are wearing jeans that don't fit and a t-shirt 2 sizes too big to accommodate a beer gut with ratty sneakers or leather shoes that haven't seen polish in years and they top it off with a baseball cap worn backwards like they are till a sophomore in college.
So I think the reason people guess on the low side with me when it comes to my age is because I'm always standing next to a bunch of guys who stopped trying decades ago, LOL.
I think people see a tall, fit, well dressed, well groomed guy and give me the benefit of the doubt.
I think people may see a guy 15 years younger than me that is shorter, balding, and looks like a slob and penalize him when estimating his age because of his appearance.

I'm sure it works the same way for women. I've been completely shocked recently when I met a women who is fit and slim with a superb sense of fashion, great hairstyle, and a bubbly personality. I was positive she was in her early 30's... until she told me her 50th birthday was in a few days. Wow!

Once I;m washed up, people usually guess a few years younger. My maternal grandfather would like going to Riverview and fooling the Age Guesser guy. They would usually require to see his driver's license- he REALLY looked younger. He was great at Skee-Ball too.

That's a question that I love to answer! I am 70 years old but everyone tells me that I only look 50!🙂
And I am young at heart so I act much younger than my chronological age. Especially on the phone. People always say "You sound so young".

Most times they guess younger, but I think I look as someone should for my age, though others have argued that's not true.

I'm active, take care of my skin and hair, garden, am a Master Naturalist, in a bookclub, like lively discussions on politics, deep thought, have good friends and family, write poetry, working on getting a book published, like to cook, have a pretty nice son who's fun. Enjoy life.

I don't think so. I look younger.

My classmates thought that I was 25yo. A new friend I made, thought I was 22yo. Last month I visited a university with my uncle to get his 17yo son's admission and the staff thought I am the son.

I am in my fucking 30s. I cannot even imagine what will happen if I shave my beard.

As for aging we all do & as for aging some people really show it & like wine some people get better with age as well. As for me I keep people guessing & people always seem to think I’m around 33 & I always laugh & tell them to add ten years & they don’t believe me.

A number of people mentioned that I don't ''look my age'' - but 'younger'.

Whatever 'younger' may mean.

However - I know my age, and that's all that counts. Because it's actually irrelevant what others see in me.

Who knows? I used to get told I looked young... but that was when I WAS young...  I've definitely not got any age-related comments since I got permastubble, let alone since I removed my eyebrows.

Not really. I just turned 20 and barely have to shave once a week and have no chest hair. Girls seem to like it however and in case you are wondering I have no issues at all with being able to have many rounds of sex or masturbation.

Yeah. My receding hairline makes sure of that. But if I shave my beard & mustache, I'd look a lot younger. Like in my early 20's.

Well, I awoke the morning of my 50th birthday to find that during the night what little hair hadn't disappeared while sleeping had turned pure white. If I put a hat on I look over 10 years younger. So I guess.

Depends on if I have my beard grown out or not. If I do, I've had people guess my age to be 30-45. Whilst, when I have my face shaved, they'd guess 18-19.
