I always thought it was best to combine both, with a stress on strength training.
Accordong to a study I read, strength training builds muscle mass and is beneficial to bone density: critical for general health and especially important as the years go by.
The study’s aim was to shed light on the thought that cardio could “destroy one’s gains” in the gym. It concluded that, as long as strength training is the primary workout, incorporating a day of cardio will not hinder but enhance one’s goals. The study showed that muscle mass was maintained, but there was more density and definition in the subjects’ physique (another way of saying “ripped”). They also noticed more energy, better sleep and recovery, accompanied by a general vitality that was inexistent when just lifting weights.
You need both. Strength training builds muscle and well... strength. Cardio builds your heart and lung capacity. Together they burn fat. I've always been a runner. But I learned to love strength training.
For sure, to be honest I don't even do them in gym because I feel very bad after that
I do almost all cardio. I do some strength here and there.

I kind of think strength training is harder. For me once my heart rate gets to a certain point its like I could jog forever, as long as I keep the rhythm. Strength training i dont do enough reps to every max my heart out and find the rhythm.
I enjoy cardio, not strength training. The enjoyment is that switch that flips to make it "easier" in my mind.
I disagree. Strength training can make me feel depleted. Like holding a glass of water after will shake my hand. Cardio depending on the volume is great to empty my mind. I do have to mention that I had much more experience with cardio over the years, so that might be a factor.
Honestly, no.
Strength training is where I have to put all my mental and physical energy.
I generally do cardio (stationary bike) after I've already wrecked myself doing free weights.
Strength training is how I exhaust myself. Cardio is how I use up the last little bit of whatever energy is left.
For me 100% since I am banned from doing cardio due to a health issue. Strength training is part of the remedy so I train every week. But cardio is still something I am working towards.
I agree with your thoughts, and it depends on how hard someone trains.
Waaay back in the say, I separately trained like Armstrong and Schwarzenegger. Endurance and show muscle.
I agree. 😊 The only cardio I'm doing nowadays is walking unfortunately 😕
Cardio is actually easier for me. I can just listen to my audiobook and ignore the time and everything else but pedaling the bike.
100% agree. Cardio is awful and not fun at all… that’s why I don’t do it enough.
Depends. What strength training do you do?
I like using the machines. I'll split between upper and lower body. I don't lift heavy, I focus more on higher reps
So lighter weights and more reps? What weights?
Agree.
I disagree..
