For example, my wife had multiple sclerosis, and there was no treatment. Many illnesses are like this. What illnesses do you know like this? Comments welcomed

There are treatments for certain aspects of M. S., mostly medications that stop the demyelination in the brain.


Many conditions exist for which there are no treatment. The reason is that almost all of them - over 80% - are genetic or have a significant amount of genetic contribution, and while there is much research now on genetic therapies, still philosophical arguments persist about the ethics of using these therapies.

There is something like the catalog of rare illnesses. Illnesses with only a few hundred cases worldwide. The drug companies have no economical interest in doing R&D for these, so some countries offer grant money for this specific research.
