What has cycling taught you? Perseverance, loneliness, or trust?

I used to do a lot of bicycling. Like 20-50 miles a day. I think my longest day was 112 miles.

I always loved it. It's great exercise. Compared to jogging, you can go far enough to actually see things, with different routes every day. I just enjoyed the exercise along with the fresh country air.

Nowadays it's not as safe. There is so much more traffic. Plus cycling is not nearly as popular as it was in the past. So cars aren't used to bicycles and don't look out for them. On the other hand, there are a lot of bike paths now.

I have run many marathons before the injuries piled up too much. I learned perseverance but it was more than that. We have something that is hardwired into our DNA that gives us strength when we are on empty. During the last few miles of a marathon, the body runs out of glycogen and your legs begin to cramp. A brisk pace turns into slow plod. It is called "hitting the wall". That is when the mind has to control a body tast just wants to lay down and quit.

I’m into football 🏈 I’m not into jogging that much that’s only for exercise. It’s not really a hobby. I like bikes, but I don’t really like to go cycling for 25 miles
