There are some things that helps me relax when I'm stressed like
It sounds stupid, but stressing myself in a different area. I can work well when I am physically exhausted, as long as I am not just sleepy. Than sleeping is the best case. Sport is great when I am mentally exhausted.
I also dance to get new ideas. So kimda two in one. 😅

Exercise. A run. Resistance training. A weighted jump rope. A mountain bike ride. Skiing. The pool. My water rower. Any sort of exercise feels good and diverts my mind from whatever is stressing me out.
Stress aside, if I'm simply stuck with my thinking on a given problem, I'll recognize it, stand up and walk away, and go for a run. Not always but almost always when I come back to it the next day my thinking is clearer and I'll find the breakthrough I was looking for.
Think of it as the problem of the forest and the trees. Get up and get out for a moment. Allow your perspective to reset. It's usually self imposed blindness holding me back.
The healthiest options I go for are: going swimming or for a run, spending time with friends, showering, watching a show, cooking, listening to music.
From time to time maybe I’ll smoke a bit, or relief myself.
