The MAP is really just a very high dose estrogen pill. It was developed after doctors started telling patients to take 4 or 5 standard BC pills to prevent pregnancy in case of an "accident".

Either method (the MAP or multiple standard BC pills) is very hard on the body and should not be used as routine BC - there have been deaths and serious long-term health issues as a result of frequent use.

But these aren't going to be in the body long enough to make a significant impact on weight gain the way standard daily or implanted BC can for some women.

No it doesn't. It just increases your appetite for a few days because of the the high-dose progesterone hormone can increase appetite.

But it's pretty much like right before you come on your period. It might be some bloating but it goes away fast.
