Not in a mirror (at least, not a standard mirror), because they are a flat plane, but anything with a spherical lens (i. e., any type of camera) will make you look slightly fatter than you are, because of lens distortion. And the wider-angle the lens, the greater the distortion.

The 24mm focal length lens is very wide-angle, and you'll see how big the girl's nose looks, because it's closest to the center of the frame and closer to the camera. As the focal length increases, and the lens angle narrows, the image looks "flatter" and lens distortion is reduced - but not eliminated.
This is one reason why Hollywood has always been so hard on actors to be slim - the camera literally "adds 10 pounds" - meaning lens distortion makes you look bigger in the middle.

I think that some people look fatter and some look thinner. For example, I have a cut jawline but a round face. From the side I look much thinner. So I do believe that someone seeing me in real life would perceive me as thinner upon viewing me from more than just a perfectly straight-om viewpoint. I find this can be true about many women, too.
I also know women who look much thinner in photographs because they have learned how to "sorority" pose.
In short, I don't think we can objectively say that everyone is fatter in pictures. Depends.
You definitely look different because you’re looking at yourself through a medium and not straight on. So of course, some features will be *minutely* distorted but you will look almost identical in person. Certain angles in photos may make you look bigger or smaller also.
If you wear baggy clothes you look fatter than if you wear tighter clothing at home looking in the mirror, or sometimes no clothes at all when you look in the mirror. But depending on the mirror you may just look fatter bc of the angle of the mirror too.
I look slimmer, because I can work the angle.

In pictures, yes. The camera lens have this fisheye effect and may make you seem rounder, as well as the fact that you're putting a 3D object on a 2D screen. Everything will be kinda spread out. For mirrors, it's you but flipped. It doesn't really affect how fat you look.
You look like my friend when she was anorexic. Tell tale sign is your entire profile highlighting legs so thin I fear you might break them in half in an accident.
from what I've learned is that we all see ourselves and others differently. i might see myself as big, but someone else might see me as fit, but typically we are all way harder on the image of our selves than anyone else
I look fatter in pictures. I don't photograph well.
self perception is the largest factor pertaining to this question so of course it depends on the individual but most people are on the self critical side.
Thing is that cameras and sometimes mirrors work like common screens and not like a persons eyes, so what someone sees in a picture taken by camera is from only one point and what he sees with his eyes are from two points which are also curved
mostly people look fat in mirror.
but I don't. as I'm a skinny guyFor me, yes, but I’ve got body dysmorphic disorder so that could be why
