Did someone you know attempt to unalive themselves?

my brother was highly suicidal and he had "attemted" suicide for quite a bit. the way he was trying to do it wasn't by straight up killing himself. he did it by being more and more negligent about his safety for example at his job or while driving his car. and his plan was to successively be more and more negligent untill he dies eventually. luckily he was sent to therapy when my parents found out that was going on. it doesn't really affect me a whole lot. tbh it's still sort of "unreal" to me even since that situation has long been resolved but i kind of understand why he got there.

A cousin on July28,2021;it greatly affected me because she was a beautiful, successful woman.

One time I went to my uncles house and saw a picture of my cousin on a shelf in a frame and she was standing next to a man I have never seen before. I asked my uncle who is the man in the picture and he said to me it was my cousins ex boyfriend who commited suicide.

Not that I am aware of, and I would think there would have been warning signs pointing to that.

Yes, a young man from church. His girlfriend broke up with him, and wouldn't go back to him. He was successful at ending his life. Very very sad!

My oldest brother back in the early '70's. I don't remember him alive. One of my earliest memories is of the day he died and then a few days later arriving at the funeral. I can't say it effected me much, but I do wish I had known him.

By "unalive" themselves (?) I assume you mean committed suicide, and yes I have known several, and never understood WHY? Persons I knew well, and others, not very much. Lives ended for what reason? We never know

I used to hang out with a lot of people who unalived themselves without realizing they were trying to unalive themselves. High risk job. Debatable survival risk.

I‘ve heard quite a number of stories over the years, unfortunately. The majority of them did not succeed and are still with us, though.
