When does a man start to become old by age?

I'd say the last third of your life. First third young. Second third middle aged. Last third old. So depending on your familial medical history/average life span that age could very. If the men in your family die early in their 50s then you are old in your mid 30s. If the men in your family die in their 90s, then you are not old until your 60s and so on.

I was still playing basketball and dunking in my early 40's. And then when I hit 45 it's like someone flipped a switch.

But, this is my experience. I'd say individual experiences vary. Take care of yourself and don't get into any accidents and you can push that old age back further.

For both sexes, I'd say old starts between 40 and 50. Basically, when you reach the age when it would be very reasonable to be a grandparent

I think is after 50. There is a reason that you never see pro athletes over 50.
