Why does my fiancé complain when I sleep all day?

My fiancé and I are expecting our first child in serval months. They know I have bad fatigue before this, I'm on anti depression medication (and they make you sleepy) and this pregnancy is making me sleepy all the time!

He says I can't stay in bed all day and I understand this but in bed it's warm and there are some days I can barely move. He says I exhaust him and when I was up today, I should have done the dishes.

I just wish I can turn off my body and sleeping mode. And I know he wants me to be up most of the day and some days I can. But sometimes when I nap he makes noise so I am not sleeping properly 🫩

Well , what’s your thoughts on the situation kind of reversed , if HE was sleeping all day instead of working?


Your fiancé complains because he is tired , frustrated and worried , possibly even scared for what this means to your life together.


Anti-depressants can cause sleepiness , those are the sedating kind , they can also be activating and cause insomnia … perhaps consult a medical professional as if you have additionally been diagnosed with fatigue then it doesn’t seem logical that you are also prescribed a sedating anti-depressants.


Secondly fatigue can be a symptom of depression and you can be otherwise perfect physically able to move around and function.
So it may help to attend CBT courses on how you can help yourself though this period.


What is likely if you do nothing is that when your child arrives , stress from this situation isn’t going to have a positive affect on your relationship at all and will likely mean conflict


Your fiance clearly loves you and is deeply concerned.


Could you not at least try to help yourself though? Even for the sake of your child?
