In order of what I do to handle it the most to least,

    Game or read manga/watch anime
    Sleep
    Workout
    Alcohol
    Go out in nature
Write thoughts in journal (I'm pretty inconsistent with it, but it's effective and helps organize my thoughts when I do)

When I'm really freaking anxious, as I've been almost non-stop for more than two years now, becoming totally mute sometimes due to the anxiety, I do the 5-4-3-2-1 countdown.

    Slowly,
Name 5 things I can see
Name 4 things I can hear.
Name 3 things I can touch.
Name 2 things I can smell.
Name 1 thing I can taste.

By the end of doing that, I can usually breathe again, speaking might require one more round of countdown, though.

If you're suffering from anxiety, my heart goes out to you.

My friend, who is a therapist, always suggests the 5 4 3 2 1 technique

I've found it to be helpful. The 54321 technique is a sensory-based mindfulness tool designed to manage anxiety, panic attacks, and intense emotions by grounding you in the present moment. By focusing on 5 things you see, then 4 you feel, then 3 you hear, then 2 you smell, and finally 1 you taste, it shifts your focus from anxious thoughts to your physical surroundings. She said the taste could be something you're looking forward to tasting later.

Well, besides my smartass reply of drinking, just anything grounding like hugging a tree or even standing barefoot in the snow for a minute. Sometimes meditative videos or music can help. And sometimes it depends where it is. Like I get really anxious in large stores like wal-mart and often the only solution is just leaving.

I don't really experience anxiety like other people seem to. But when confronted with a challenge my usual response is to attack the problem. Getting lost in the solution generally tends to take my focus off the enormity of the problem and any "woe is me" tendencies in my personality. Resolving the problem puts it behind me.

Breathing exercises and thinking through it logically - what is making me anxious, what can I do about it right now, what can I do about it in the future and is it something that’s actually worth me worrying about.

Music always helps me when I'm feeling anxious. Like when I'm about to go in for an interview, I'll turn on some comforting music to soothe my nerves.

I need to get out, no matter what the weather is like. A stroll along the beach front, listening to some music. That will usually calm me down.
