If you need a strong drink but are on a budget, what do you choose?

Normally Vodka or whisky do the trick but for financial reasons and high. prices I am stuck with drinking red wine

I don't drink alcohol as my opinion is that you don't need alcohol to have fun. I have never understood that kind of mentality why people need to consume alcohol. I place alcohol at the same level as drugs and the people that consume it are potential addicts and a danger for society.

I can understand that you take one single glass of red/white wine with a meal but that is where my approval of alcohol consumption ends.

Why do you need a strong drink? Why not just go out and exert yourself rather than to consume strong alcohol?

I have no idea which alcohol would be cheapest and even if I knew, I don't think it would help you.

I agree with what you said above its just a way of escaping the stress of tiring work day some kind of relaxation method I know my limits so there is no problem for me when I finish it I am still in control know what to do or say but you are right about the ones losing control and cause damage to the society after drinking lots of alcohol

Basically everything can be an addiction, even food. Unless your main reason of consuming alcohol is to get drunk, then this is an addict.

@YevBorCA you are right about that but not totally to me addiction is a strong word meaning that you can't do without it even for a single day there are times I dont consume alcohol for weeks even months and that doesn't make me addicted

If you're just after high alcohol and not bothered about quality then what about supermarket own brands? Alternatively there's the stuff only used for cooking or sterilising stuff like Jack Daniels.

Jack Daniels sound expensive whiskies are far from afforfable so I prefer red wine for a cheap solution

I can drink some pretty shit whisky/tequila. I had a $12 bottle of pistola Diablo which I think was a closeout sale because it was actually more like a $20-30 bottle in taste

The prices seem reasonable but the prices are higher than neccessary because of tax issues in where I live

I spend more time listening to Dave Ramsey… and talking to my hubby and kids about doing side jobs to make more money… we don’t need the money… but to help kids understand ways to utilize their time and intelligence.

Thanks 👍 you are right about what you said but I already limited consumption of alcohol because of financial reasons its also bad news that I have a neck for drinking and I need at least three litres of red wine to feel fine and clear my head thats why I sometimes find it hard to find enough money to meet my need because of the high prices

In the US you can't do better than domestic Bourbons and Whiskeys. Scotch has priced itself out of the US market and availability is a problem. And there are plenty of Bourbons and Rye Whiskeys at $30 to $40 per bottle that are really good. Like Woodford Reserve, Bulleit, and Elijah Craig. But if cost is a factor, Jim Beam Bourbon is basically the standard of bars everywhere for mixed drinks at $25 per bottle. And Jack Daniels is a very decent Tennessee Whiskey at about the same price.

The only problem is that a lot of guys and most women do not like the taste of Whiskeys neat and some still can't tolerate it even in a Manhattan or an Old Fashioned.
