It would be according to the why of the social awkwardness. Do you have a shy personality. Well, if it's a natural trait, it will require work to overcome. Or is it social anxiety, an actual mental disability that may require therapy and treatment?

You need to discover the base cause. But the basic means of challenging this awkwardness is practice, practice. If it's anxiety, you have to deal with that first, then get to the practice.

Join general groups that do group activities such as baseball, softball, basketball, fishing, hunting, volleyball. Get to know a few folks in the group who you're comfortable with. Those are first steps.

Build on the steps and move to another group and do the same. This will take time and practice. But if you're shy or awkward, remember to give yourself "down time" to recharge. Everyone needs private time. It's not a running away, but especially for introverts, it helps you to be ready for more social interactions.

You won't be the "life" of the party, but becoming less awkward will put more life in YOUR life! Good luck.

You can it’s just hard. It helps to be confident in your appearance. This could look like picking a hairstyle that makes you feel good, outfits, etc or getting into better physical shape. Then it’s just starting small. Have a few one on one conversations with other people. I personally like small talk in these situations because it is like a pre-built conversation you can fall on and know what to say. As you get more comfortable you can build off that

@IloveMacDemarco4 Well young lady, you are 21. Not very many men or women your age are REALLY socially adept, and that can feel awkward and just takes a little time and a bit more maturity, and by that, I mean that in terms of your exposure in the workplace and other kinds of 'pressure' environments. You are basically 3 years out of high School and, let's be honest, High School does not prepare you for the 'real' world of society, and how to navigate it with confidence. I'm just guessing that you are not in college? If you are working your first job, out of high school, it can be a rude awakening, as it was for me. I did not really know how to deal with some of the A-holes I encountered in the workplace, but I learned quickly.

Hey, you will be a great social butterfly before you know it.

Well there's a lot of facets to this.

Like everything, the key is why. What are the dynamics that enabled this. What are your daily thoughts, habits etc? If people are on the hub all day, rather than interacting with people in real life, for example, then that is not going to help. Another possible key is family dynamics growing up. Were you brought up not confident and passive, etc.

    But yeah, two important keys.

    1. Get out of your head.

    2. Self love and embracing yourself. If your worth or value is dependent on the validation of external parties, then you're always going to be insecure..

Oh yea absolutely. The best tricks are to do 2 of these 3 things.

1, go to the gym, confidence has a lot to do with how you see, and how others see you.
2, a hobby. A healthy hobby will get you invested and thinking less about what others might, or might not think of you.
3, travel often. Even if ita near. Time spend going places clears the mind, allows you to meet people and learn from many conversations.

Yes is my opinion there is only familiar and unfamiliar. You have to learn to be ok with being uncomfortable. Then you'll realize even in the worst situations, everything is still ok.

Laughter is a magic expression that can make emotions like fear and anxiety into compassion and love. Its being able to work with your energy instead of fighting who you are. For me laughter was a key. Both learning to laugh at myself and make other people laugh with what I say.

I would not say that I was ever socially awkward but there was a time when social situations felt overwhelming for me. I repeatedly forced myself to engage is social situations and I gradually learned to relax, enjoy the time, and become more outgoing.

Similar to therapy, ideally, it doesn't really heal anything but it shall make you stop caring lol

      Plus, it preserves your liver.

Not a disease. Not an illness. So nothing to cure and nothing to heal.

Something to grow with instead, something to feel better about, over time. With the right people, with a more appeased mind.

I have grown out of a lot of it. The older you get the more you may realize that you have nothing to be afraid of. Forcing yourself to be more social can help.

Of course you can. The way to do that or it's the one thing that helped me is exposure. So the more you go out and socialise the easier it becomes and the less awkward you feel.

    Absolutely!

Socially awkward people are usually just hyper-focused on themselves.

Like many said, nothing to heal from. We all have these moments. Just work on yourself, keep a clean appearance, be confident, and you will grow into whoever you want to be!

I wouldn't say you heal as that is not some type of disease. You learn how to live and adapt.

I think whenever I watch YouTube news 📰🗞️ 📱 of real people out in the real world of different social classes going about their lives I think to myself "hmm, we're all very not so different after all - all" - pauses 🤗👀
