When should I be concerned for a late period?

How many days late should my period be in order for me to be concerning? I have a copper IUD and my period is a few days late. I had my IUD for 7 years. When should I see a doctor if my period doesn’t come? How late should it be for it to be unhealthy? What causes a super late period on the copper IUD? Besides pregnancy because I can’t be pregnant on the IUD.

My mother had irregular periods for most of her 20s and 30s even though she was not married until the age of 31, and it was probably due to hormonal issues or kidney issues. She got pregnant with me but her pregnancy was very hard for her. She was not pregnant before or after me even though she still had irregular menstrual cycles. Do not ask me why, I am not a doctor.

THe only reason for a late period would be pregnancy or undue stress. If you're more than a week late, go see your gynecologist. Sometimes IUDs dislodge for one reason or another. Make an appointment.

Follow up with your doctor about this. You'll get a million different answers on here which will cause you to be more worried.

Shouldn't you have figured this out at least 15 years ago? Talk to your doctor.

If it’s more than a week it could be stress related, but if you miss more than one period get a pregnancy test
