Do food addictions like cashews or bread cravings fade over time?

Last night I found cashews in the home and since I had go so long without eating them, I became addicted and ate way too many. Now the scale says have gained around 1.5 pounds in 24 hours, but it could also be because I had burgers with bread for dinner last night.

I try to eat my burgers without bread, but my dad did not know I was trying to avoid bread, and he cooked the melted cheese and burger on top of the bread, so I had no choice but to eat my burger with bread last night, and that might have been a partial reason I gained weight.
