I work out seven days a week. Sometimes eight if I’m feeling lazy.
I don’t even warm up anymore because the joints clicking is my warm-up. My knees sound like someone stepping on a bag of potato chips. My spine sounds like a glow stick being snapped in half before a rave.
I had this buddy once who said clicking is bad. He went to a “physical therapist” and “stopped lifting until his form was perfect.” You know where he is now? Still not lifting. I never stopped. I clicked through the pain, through the weird grinding sensation, through that one time my shoulder made a sound like a car door slamming on a marshmallow. Now I’m indestructible.
Sometimes I go twice on Sunday just to hear the midnight clicks when the gym is empty. The janitor hates me, probably, he never talks to me. But my bones? They’re very chatty. Which means I am doing something right.
